holiestcows got a reaction from Vaya in [CSGO] Junction
Ive addressed all of the issues in the WIP thread, as Horse stated we dun goof'd on the version; none the less ive re-addressed them and more found by various people online. Thanks for anyone pointing out bugs though.

You got the UT4 ascetic down, great work.
Pretty happy with how this is coming along. Have some camera occlusion issues when you look at certain angles, with the water shader. I still have to do some parallax for it as well, but none the less, UE4 is great.

holiestcows reacted to BubkeZ in I'm open for a new project!
Hi MC!
After my work with Squad and Yanzl on Thrill I'm now open for a new CS:GO map project.
Since my CS:GO mapping skills are weak (I'm used to map for CS 1.6) I will contribute with layout, theme, testing, and feedback from greybox to the final release.
I will try to be online 1-2 h for feedback and test everyday, I believe in hard work!
I'm already working on a new layout and I got some ideas for a de_ map.
Feel free to contact me!

Nearly finished hopefully! 50/50 about the Post processing though might change it up a tad

Can confirm, map does feel like it hasn't been sufficiently tested. For starters, most of the issues in this post in the WIP thread haven't been addressed. Or perhaps somebody uploaded the wrong build?
You can still disappear underneath the angled walls at T spawn, and they can be shot through which is the most game breaking bit. I would also argue that it's pretty game breaking to have a model with such terrible collisions (the shiny fountain thing) slap bang in the middle of a bombsite. If the player can't trust that their bullets aren't going to ping off an invisible wall, what's the point in playing? IIt shouldn't be difficult or expensive to make collisions for a model like that, and then you could slap a playerclip over the top if you don't want people climbing all over it.
I haven't played with any of the related console commands to look at what's being rendered, but movement in larger areas feels rather choppy or sluggish at times, so I feel there may yet be a fair amount of optimization pending.
Lovely visuals though.

Hey guys and gals. We've finally finished this one up. Junction is a defuse map designed for competitive play that takes place in the heart of Shanghai, China. We've been working on this one for quite some time, and we're really stoked to release it. I've included a few screenshots here, for the full list check out the workshop page, and obviously the map!
Big shoutout to all the mapcore peeps that ran around it and provided feedback.

Okay so for reals this time, map is coming out soon. Things left to do:
Final compile BSP, make sure it's all 100% gucci. Do radar for both levels And that's pretty much it. Got busy with a bunch of art tests, updated blackgold for secret reasons, also landed a job at Gunfire Games! Past two months have been crazy busy. Thanks again for everyone providing feedback on bugs and stuff.
Lastly I do not remember if I had mentioned this in an earlier post, but I plan to release all of the art from the map on the same day I officially release the workshop version. I don't have any documentation behind any of it (other than comments in the vmt's). I figured it best to have the thread here act as a mini AMA that others can see.

Im sorry you guys are having performance issues. I am enjoying the game at 60fps on my 980. Im not trying to say the problem does not exist, nor that its excusable by Bethesda for this to happen etc, but on a gameplay point of view, I do enjoy the game...

Yeah kind of, been working on it the last month during my free time between projects with TheHorseStrangler. Spent the first 2 weeks alone learning strictly blueprints, its been fun though, UE4 is just genuinely enjoyable to work in. Especially after all the hoops that source puts you through on bigger scale projects.
