  1. Castles are great! Can't wait to see your map g0th! I' m glad you decided to enter
  2. Thanks a lot guys. I agree with you about the yellow light Pat. I need to add some variation there for sure!
  3. I have finally finished enough textures to texture an entire hallway! Ok, I have more than that done, but this is one of the more finished areas. WIP of course.
  4. I don't know about footage, but I have a couple of quick screenshots. I think I finally have the layout nailed down, so now the real fun begins!
  5. http://www.bakdesign.net/tm/tutorial/3dsmax_tutorial.html Try using this tutorial. This shows how to vertex paint, which you already know how to do, but it also gives tips on what version of q3map_2 to use and how to set up your shader. If you need further help, you might send Hipshot a message. He is a genius when it comes to this stuff.
  6. Just to be clear you can vertex paint the models in your modeling program and get it to work without using alpha volume brushes. There are at least two different ways depending on the model format you are using. Are you using .lwo or .ase models?
  7. Hipshot...man, I just hope I have enough time to pull this off!
  8. Got a little more texture work done this evening.
  9. I've done a bit more work on the layout, but have mainly been focusing on making a new texture set. Or rather, remaking textures from some models I created during my Quake 4 days. I will hopefully have something to show soon though!
  10. Thanks Kaffee. I can't wait to see your map...your screenshot looks pretty interesting so far
  11. o/ Whatever you decide to build, I can't wait to see it!
  12. Wow, I haven't seen this screenshot in a while. I really need to go back and finish this map. Can't wait to see your map, Hipshot!
  13. Really nice work Jenn0_Bing.
  14. Thanks for the crits and comments guys. @Jenn0_Bing: Believe it or not there is purple contrasting light in this map, though you can't tell it from either of these screenshots. It is cool that you mentioned that particular color. Both jumpads and teleporters around the level cast a purplish glow against the stark brick walls, and stained glass windows elsewhere help to spice up the palatte. @Evert: I think it might just be the wacky angles with which I've taken the screenshots. I wanted to do some irregular geometry for this map, and player movement and flow were foremost on my mind when designing the map. It is also clipped up nice and tight and you can move pretty quickly without getting snagged. Here is a link to the map if anyone is interested: Phantq3dm4
  15. Hi, This is my first post, though I visit this forum often. These screenshots are from my map Windsong Keep for Quake 3. It was created for a mapping competition that just ended. Although the map submitted was pretty complete, I have not yet released a final because I'm still working on a few things that I didn't have quite enough time to fix before the deadline. PS. Great looking stuff Hipshot! (as usual )
