  1. Small Art test I've literally just finished and emailed off so I'd thought I'd post it up so ppl can tell me whats wrong with it was limited to 8 512's and 8000 tris although I only used around 4000
  2. Not had much time to work on this recently, but I'm close to getting all of the major rock structures complete which will be a big jump in the progress, this is the outside area which will be in a semi-blizzard
  3. Thanks for the replies all, been working more on the human Tibetan props since I last posted, already fed up of doing rocks at this point the lighting is still temporary so its not really showing off the models particuarly well

Lo all, More or less finished my last map at least to a visual degree so I've started something new, its set in and around a Himalayan mountain range with tibetan style architecture to keep it interesting, these are the newest shots i cound get before the map corrupted so I can start on a new slate so everythings up for crits Thanks

I'm trying to go for a victorian industrial style theme think i need to incorporate the elements a little better in the texture work, the skybeams I more or less slopped down so there completely off I'm gomma try upping the saturation on the skybox and hopefully make the sun less of an orange smear - thanks for the crits @JoshuaC , Looking pretty nice, the main thing that jumps out for me are the textures are too similiar in colour, maybe try adding a darker wood texture to the trim? Good luck with the comp!

  8. That looks great penE, very clean Maps going pretty well, spent some time playing with the lighting, post process effects and additional details making sure it looks good in a small area, drew up an asset list only 11 assets to go!
  9. I don't really know to be honest I always thought steam punk just meant victorian trends and technologies in the current world but looking around the net I realise im wrong - not sure which way to push it yet

Quick update on my Victorian themed map, layout is more or less blocked out concentrating on building a decent number of assets to populate around the place at the moment and seeing how they fit ultradr3mer: its all looking pretty nice, is it based off an underground bunker? Was wondering as this site might be useful for refs, http://www.subbrit.org.uk/ My biggest problem with it is there are several lights which don't seem to have a source for example the second image has a spotlight on the ceiling and floor but no visible light source, if there is a light source and i just can't see it don't mind me the lighting also seems to use the same colour, varying it a bit maybe using a light cold blue around the edges could make the lighting contrast with itself and push everything outwards This link should help http://book.hourences.com/booklighting.htm The other problem is the wall and floor textures all have roughly the same colour putting in a trim at floor and ceiling height of a nice rusty orange again will make everything pop out and not blend together Hope that all helps

Hey all, Looking foward to posting here, some impressive stuff around, Very early shot of my first map I'm working on, not a one-view portfolio showcase for once Theme is based around a rusty ornate victorian styled powerhouse, which is slowly falling apart to the elements - not hugely original I know, but hopefully it'll look alright Oh and ignore the lighting that was started when it had a completely different theme
