Hey there i wrote an application to generate a heightmap from photos by interpreting the surface brightness as normal.

I found it quite useful and thought i'd be a good idea to share it.

I saw some Youtube music-videos having really great visualizers and thought why cant media players be something that looks like that.
Something that you can put on your TV like steam big picture.
So i made this Media player. Its something like the opposite of foobar2000. It has almost no features but a cool UI.
Also this is what i made the Color Picker for.
There seem to be problems on Nvidia cards. im working on that.

    Help With Settings Xml.

    Path to your media folder.

<LibraryPath>E:\music</LibraryPath> If the it doesn't run smoothly you can try setting this down to 1. <DssaQuality>2</DssaQuality> You can set a custom resolution here (does not affect full screen resolution). <Width>1280</Width> <Height>720</Height> If no Cover found this colors will be used. <DefaultColorA>#FF4C4C</DefaultColorA> <DefaultColorB>#5482FF</DefaultColorB>

I made a program to find 2 dominating colors in an image. Those can be used to make color schemes that suit the image.
For example I want to make a media player that colorizes itself to the cover art shown.
    Here are some examples:

Hey there I'm not sure that this is the right place but It is kinda complete and work I want to share.
So Its been a long time since i last posted here but yesterday I wanted to calculate the cavity from a normalmap and since i didn't like xNormal (because it was to heavy and i don't use photoshop) and searching for cavity from normal didn't bring up anything I decided to make my own little Tool.
    (Needs .Net 4.0)

    this is how it looks:
