A handful of the art guys went over there, maybe 3 years ago now - certainly wasn't a lot of us, but then at that time (and for the next year at least) half of us were on Crysis 3 whilst Homefront 2 started in it's original (more akin to HF1) guise so it was a smaller team working on it. I'm not sure if we are fearful of others, but we are certainly overly polite to them. I can imagine if any trouble had kicked off in Philly then the artists would have been quick to apologise to and thank their attackers

A friend of mine bought me a copy of NS2 because he loves it and wanted me to play with him. I played two matches and hated it, the team I was on both times just got stomped lol

I don't think you can comment on the gameplay based on Crytek's history at all, since it's an entirely different universe, one that's probably lacking in the nanosuits and aliens department. Homefront 1 was boring, imo, because it was too scripted and hand-holdy, to the point that in some areas you could easily look around and see the edge of the map because they didn't even expect you to look over to the side when walking across a street or whatever. Homefront 2 being Free Radical and being open world are both huge positive potential points. Hopefully the game gets the time it needs to shine.

I think that might be the most generous I've ever seen you be for a console-focused release, Dux

I agree that the designs felt a bit conservative. RTCW had those enemies with their lower half replaced by a big shock thingy, for example, or zombies. I can respect The New Order's shying away from the supernatural though, it seems like a deliberate and thought out choice for the sake of the story, and I feel like so many story choices in games are made due to time constraints or just as an excuse for an already created bit of content that a game that feels 'holistic' like The New Order does is nicely refreshing.

Realism when it's fun/interesting, not when it's boring or lame. Having "realistic" vehicle entry and exit times would be just as not fun as "realistic" slowly bleeding out on the battlefield after taking non-core fire. I can bring a man back from the grave with some shock paddles as I bunny hop past him to avoid enemy fire, that's fun but it's not realistic.

I know I'm one of the suckers who bought a 3DS. Two, in fact. A $150 3DS XL for me, and a $110 3DS for my gf after she got excited about Harvest Moon after I described it to her as I was requesting Christmas presents

I really like the passive conversations that happen between Pac and Irish so far. I explored the lobby of the hotel in China instead of hitting the elevator, and while they did ask me to hit the button for them a couple times, they quickly gave up and started talking about fortune cookies in a really funny conversation that felt both very natural and like a stand up routine.

All the TV stuff is America only. Not even Canadians get it, despite it being a key advertising feature for the Xbone everywhere. Not sure why, though, since the TV stuff is actually incredibly simplistic, and is basically the functionality a great many smartphone apps have already. You tell it your location and cable provider, it downloads a channel guide, and then as you browse it uses the Kinect's IR functionality to IR blast your living room, acting like a universal remote control. The PS4 actually has similar functionality, except from what I hear somewhat improved (though for some reason unadvertised): The PS4 can communicate with your TV/cable box via HDMI-CEC, rather than by imitating a remote, allowing for much lower latency in control.

The gameplay demo looked alright, but I was left wishing the daytime gameplay was more like the nighttime gameplay, and less like Dead Island. I'd much rather have to solve problems by more parkour than more tossed sawblades and electro wrenches, because those things are kinda dumb and Dead Rising 2 did it better anyway (both the sawblades and the dumbness in zombie games).

I barely tolerated Dead Space's UI, since it was entirely navigated by the keyboard on PC. Personally, I give a lot of props to Crysis:

This is a ballin UI. Perfect, simple, fast, mouse-driven instead of relying on a bunch of keyboard shortcuts or browsing through menus. Just hit a key to hold up your gun, and click on the options you want, or hit the numbered hotkeys to toggle. It's super quick and intuitive.

I was talking about podcasts and websites I follow. I was specifically citing my own experience with the internet and new media, and how they use patronage, voluntary user contribution, to function. I was actually using the exact opposite of generalization to make my point, Vilham.
Reading your posts makes me feel like I'm reading youtube comments.

I agree, actually. There's been some interesting (though frequently disagreeable, personally) discussion on gender in general. However, while I have seen many people attack the video in the OP, nobody's actually criticized any individual element of it, just overarching statements like "It's boring" or comments about the person who made it, and I feel like that speaks to the point of view CampaignJunkie was expressing. The point Rick made about thinking about other people and how they might not view things the way you view them is important.

The Nexus 7, which runs a Tegra, is base $200 for its 16GB model. This is more complicated, but is also a much smaller screen, and from what I've read the Nexus's 7" multitouch LCD is the single most expensive element of it. I could see this being $200-250 depending on its features (tilt, multitouch, onboard memory (It's got a microSD slot so they can really skimp on that), gorilla glass, battery, etc), and personally I'd value this thing and its PC connectivity and android apps more than a 3DS.
