Dat texture porn!

What was your workflow on these? did you make them based on some bakes or was it just pure ps magic?
-
Played the demo tonight and I'm loving it. Feels really smooth and the environments look really sexy. Some of the power ups felt kinda strange, like those blue balls that slow you down, but all in all I think this will be great, especially in multiplayer!
-
Really nice mood you got there, only thing that bothers me are that the palm leaves appear to be dry
-
looks so cool
, now I got to make more textures! -
Yay, fun fun fun

-
haha, yeah it's still very blocky atm, just more of a texture test, to see how they work in the engine. Actually it would be kinda fun to see how an all normal mapped, 2048² res textures minecraft could look like.
@Jenno:
yeah, I've already tried to work on that a little, so thats how the planks look like atm:

Still no strong highlights and shadows on the edges tho, just some more shading. Maybe I'll get back to that (and the other textures) once I got better in doing that kind of a style.
-
Atm I'm trying to get away a little bit from hyper realistic stuff to some more stylized, fantastic environments, with all handpainted textures. That's something I haven't been doing a lot so far, so I want to get into that, learn some new techniques by the way and hopefully end up with a nice scene in the end.
I found a pretty nice concept art, made by Pascal Casolari for that purpose:

Here's what I've got so far:

And some flats:

Uow, that looks insane.
If you need any props and textures just send me a pm
. -
In case you need another guy testing, I'm in
. -
Oh, that looks interesting, but no, I'm not.

(Nope, ziehe in den nächsten beiden Wochen Stück für Stück um

And another corridor in my temple
.Could be too dark on other monitors, I'm afraid mine isn't calibrated very well:

And some minor progress on that pavillon thingy:

-
Wow, that was intense, enjoyed every second of it.
All those beautiful textures and tiny little details, and there were some extremely good looking rooms here and there
.Only part that didn't felt that polished was surface tension, with some pretty lame spots like this beauty here:
Also, I was really looking forward to that dam level, which didn't turn out to be that great, but whatever, the overall experience was amazing and especially in end with lambda core it became super awesome again

thxthxhthx

For the woodfloor I used the new imaged based reflections, some vertex painting + hovering smoke on top of it.
-
I'm a little bit ashamed to post under this mindblowing door knob, but I want to share some progress of my little scene with you:

BLURBLURBBLURB:

There's still quite a lot of stuff missing.
I think I'll make a little bamboo forest and some more interior stuff in addition to this.
-
I'm loving the flying plastic bags
. -
I like your wood, brah.

I can recommend this mudbox tutorial about sculpting some wood.

That looks really great!
