You're going the wrong way imo, not saying that being able to create your own stuff is a bad thing, but it's a mistake to think you're not able to make a map because you don't have the right texture or the right model.
Imo a good LD use what he has on stock, limitation breed creativity.

I'm participating in a lot of interviews for new hires at the moment so I think I can comment on this: in my experience, having extra stuff on a portfolio is never a bad thing, it's more about how you sell yourself as being primarily focused on.
For instance, we sometimes get resumes of people who've been like: level designer, VFX Artist, Environment Artist, Game Designer... and then Level Designer only at his/her current position, and it's really hard to judge that sort of resume because you don't really get why the guy jumped around so much between different roles, how he could have managed to develop his actual level design skills by doing so many varied tasks, how much time he worked under each different title, etc. and you have to send extra questions or have a phone/skype interview to dig into those question marks (which takes time and some preparation so sometimes we can end up favoritizing another candidate with a more straightforward career path). But, more often than not, it's just that the person wanted to mention every little thing she's contributed to on each project: he was actually hired for and mainly focusing on level design, but because he had the knowledge and the company was small, he also did the extra vfx art and environment art etc. Which of course is totally fine, it would be stupid to penalize a candidate that's a good LD for having extra skills (commonly LD teams end up having a panel of LDs from different backgrounds/interests, like one is an architect, one is a historian, one is a photograph, one was an artist before, etc. and it's only better for it). It's just that it doesn't really come across like that from glancing at his resume/portfolio and may mean, in cases of many applicants or lazy/busy employees, that you get ignored, forgotten, postponed till after another candidate has had his interview, etc.
So my advice would be to always tailor your resume and portfolio to the job you're fishing for. If you want a LD position, make it super clear you are mostly focused on LD and all the cool stuff you built and know etc. and add the extra skills as secondary instead of woving them all together into a mess that's hard to get an impression of. For instance, I'm usually an advocate for 'all on one page' portfolios (although it's not my role to tell you how to present your work etc.) and in that sort of layout I'd put the LD stuff at the top and the art, photography, essays, reviews, whatever related activity at the bottom of the page in what you consider the order of interest to a potential employer.
In the particular case of your current portfolio, it would be slight touches such as renaming 3D Artist to something more 'humble' maybe, that shows that you don't necessarily consider yourself a full fledged 3d artist but have dabbed into that field and gain some very valid experience out of it; or increasing the font size of LD page links and decreasing the one for extra activities, or really fleshing out the LD page with lots of content and info so it's clear that this is your primary skillset, etc. In any case, I think you should do a new thread to get feedback on your portfolio in general, as I think there's some simple but efficient things you can do to make it a bit more 'professional-like' (fixing a few things like overlapping text (happens to me on chrome, see picture attached), filling up your process page or getting rid of it so it doesn't seem WIP, and adding a bit more descriptions/detail of your LD projects for instance)
Extra note on portfolios though: from my experience, I cared a lot about how I would lay out my portfolio when I was looking for a job, but when I look at a candidate's portfolio, I rarely really pay attention to the layout of it or its aspect and go fishing for the content. I often only have a few minutes to dedicate to an application before I go: yes, let's do an phone interview or no, we have better candidates down the pipe or this one is just not what we're looking for. So portfolios in the end (again, in my experience) are really a case of 'I will only care about the aspect/layout if it really sucks'. I would prefer a Word document with pictures and descriptions in it that really manage to convey the candidate's strong points, experience (pro or not), specific skillset (MP, SP, MMO, Mobile, ...) etc. than a fancy portfolio with only nice pictures and nothing for me to dig my teeth in.
Anyway, it's always a bit weird to advertize stuff like that because it can just lead to you being disappointed/or us put in an awkward position, but in any case feel free to apply as an LD at CIG Frankfurt if Star Citizen would interest you, we don't have a junior LD position open at the moment but in general we consider all applicants and try to dig deeper than what's on the resume to find potential diamonds in the rough, so if you're confident about your LD skills but have trouble getting employers to even give you a chance to convince them of your abilities, it MIGHT be different here (no promises of course, I don't make the calls, and I can be fairly ruthless during interviews). And if it only goes as far as a skype interview, that's always good experience to take, might give you the edge on a future interview.

Bought a flat in the city where I studied and been renovating it during the day and working in evening/night to be aligned with my partners in crime's timezone. I'm coming out of the "break shit up" phase and into the "rebuild it" one. It's a sprint rather than a marathon on that one, gotta get it ready by early June at the latest. I don't know for how long I'll be around the area, depends on how stable my current job working from home turns out to be, but it's exciting to soon have a place to call my own.
Ordered the kitchen today, gotta get the room ready for when it arrives. Also redoing the bathroom completely, with new shower structure and such. Bedrooms are not too far from done already, just gotta paint and polish/vitrify the hardwood floors so they don't look so damaged. It's way better than my previous experience, if only for the fact that I speak the same language as people who can give me advice/help.

I am also deeply saddened by having to get rid of these marvelous pieces of art:

I have a roof now! We still have to put tiles on it on Monday, and finish the edges, gutters, etc but the bulk of the work is done. We also broke a whole lot more stuff with my brother to prepare for isolation/renovation of the walls and beams in the bedrooms (carving out some of the old dirt to make space to refill with plaster and such).

My brother left today, and we can't work on the house as it's a public holiday here, so I'll enjoy a long weekend to rest a bit from the work. Feels good to have made decent progress on the house in such a short time though, my brother was here only 2 weeks and we've removed the roof, changed all the horizontal beams under it, built a new one, opened a few walls, removed all the remaining wood panels in the house, and evacuated 6 waste containers of around 5+ tons each.

There will be some weeks before I get the windows to go in the attic, so after we're done covering the roof with the tiles and such, I'll focus on isolating it and the walls in the bedrooms for a bit. I can keep the scaffoldings for another 4 weeks if I want to so that's nice, I'll have time to do the shutters and install them.

    LIVING ROOM:

The living room was actually fairly small in the past, and at some point one of the owners made an extension to it into the garden so it's sticking out of the house itself, so now it's quite a decent size and fairly light too. At first we figured that room wasn't so bad, and that with a few touch ups we could start using it, and we even set up some of the furniture in it at the start to have a place to be (we moved all that upstairs now to avoid it taking up too much dust).

There was one wall that wasn't straight, all bloated in the center between the entrance and the kitchen (where a standing beam was) which I wanted to look into straightening up, and we also discovered that one wall at the back (in the extension) was taking water from outside on the terrace, since the retards who made it seemed to think that using a tar sheet to stop water infiltrations was good, but only on the first brick and onwards, so water can just go through that first row of bricks...

So after removing the shitty old wallpaper and furniture, I started chiseling at the wall to find out what was causing it to be so semi-oval in shape. Found that beam, which looked quite damaged and not really the sort you'd want to made apparent. So I wanted to just remove the surface of it until I could cover it up with plaster again, having straightened the wall somewhat. At some point though, breaking through the old plaster and revealing layers of all wallpapers under it, and finally reaching the layer of dirt/shit/straw below, I went Fuck it! and decided to expose the whole wall and also the horizontal beam since I always liked exposed wooden beams and wanted to see if it was usable, and also because the vertical beam had some damage by woodworms so I wanted to make sure the horizontal one wasn't being slowly eaten under my nose.

I found another beam in the wall, and the standing beam was still pretty shit, with half of its side eaten up by worms and the other having a big hole in it. Also the previous owners just cut part of the bottom of the beam probably to fit some furniture or something like that, and so it was a mess. So after checking with the carpenter that came to check up on the roof, I moved a good few centimeters of both vertical beams, and when that was taking too long I invested in an electrical planer to finish it off. Also had to do the same with the walls themselves, as some of the bricks were sticking out too much and I had to cut them and remove some of the old wall on the other side to gain a few centimeters. Was pretty happy about the horizontal beam though, it's old but solid and not too damaged so I can use it and keep it exposed. I wanted to expose the smaller beams that hold the ceiling/upper floor too, but since the extension was not done in the same way as the rest of the room, I can't, so I'll have to settle for the two beams only.

Then we passed the cables through the chimney conduct and out the top opening, and redid all lights and added some plugs. It's now in a good shape to be covered up with plaster again then with a smooth cover (I placed those wooden pieces to be able to make the wall straight when I put the plaster. I polished all beams, treated them against worms and termites, and yesterday I covered them with a dark lasure. Should go just well with the laminated floor we bought a while ago.

I also treated the wall that was getting water from the terrace by injecting insulation into all the bricks and I'm waiting a few more days for it to solidify before I cover the plaster that I removed with sanitized plaster and isolation to make sure water can't pass through (hopefully). I also have plans to put a drain along the outside wall when I redo the terrace outside, and I covered the outside wall with water-proof veneer to limit the infiltrations.

I'm just waiting for the plumber to cut an old water pipe in the wall that I don't want to take the risk of having leak into the wall, then I can cover up the walls, redo the ceiling wallpaper, and do the floor insulation and laminated boards.

Here's a picture of the beams now with the lasure on (still a bit glossy because it's not dry yet)
