    Spaceship Model XNA

Hey all, I'm currently making a simple prototype game level in XNA for a uni coursework. I've got most of my logic etc done, but up till now I've just been using the spaceship model form the spacewar starter kit as a placeholder for the ship the player controls. I'd love to have something different in there, so I was wondering if anyone could either a) direct me to a good free model I can download, or b) could anyone let me use a model (doesn't really have to be a spaceship, a plane/jet of some sort would be good too) they have made? It would need to be textured and be in .FBX or .X format (I'd prefer .FBX tho), plus you'd need to send me the texture files because of the way XNA works. The spaceship model from the spacewar starter kit is around 16, 000 polys for a reference to suitable polycount. I would of course give full credit in my coursework documentation to whoever lets me use a model. Thanks loads for any help guys!
  2. Gamespot: http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/action/crysis/index.html "Crysis is visually stunning, packed with intelligent, thrilling gameplay, and easily one of the greatest shooters ever made." 9.5/10 Eurogamer: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?ar ... 423&page=1 "This is a game that feels supremely engineered, like a precision machine, or a German automobile. It makes Half-Life 2 seem old and frail, but by the same token it does nothing to diminish the imaginative achievements of that series." 9/10 IGN: http://uk.pc.ign.com/articles/834/834614p1.html "Crysis is one of, if not the, most stunningly beautiful games we've ever seen. But even beyond that, it's a pretty fantastic shooter. Solid weapons, intelligent enemies, and fairly open level designs mix with nano-suit powers to make this one of the more entertaining ballistic showdowns in some time." 9.4/10 Has a current metacritic score of 93 as well: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/crysis
  3. There's people doing those sort of things for a living as well, ask Hipshot. True. I suppose I was contradicting myself there. If you had a cyborg to tidy your house why not have one to fix the plumbing, or one to mend your car? Starting with house cleaning would escalate to lots of jobs being lost in other areas where humans do jobs 'for each other' (i.e. joiners fixing house interiors). I've changed my mind then, there should be no cyborgs to do any jobs that humans can do, including house cleaning. So to keep as many jobs for people as possible and not encourage poverty, which cyborgs would do.
  4. Cyborgs doing the dirty work all sounds well and good but a lot of people in the world rely on getting paid to do that dirty work to put food on the table. My father is a gas-fitter/welder and I know I wouldn't have wanted him to get sacked because some Cyborg can do his job. All those jobs that most people don't want to do provide income for a lot of families. We don't need Cyborgs creating even more of a class/poverty divide than there already is. Now...cyborgs you can purchase for own home to do your ironing and tidying up wouldn't be too bad, that I would like!
  5. Does anyone remember that "Frosty the Snowman" game for the Commodore 64? It was a 2D sidescrolling plaformer. I seem to remember it being frustratingly hard. Mind you it might be that because I was like, 8, when I played it and now could be remembering it as harder than it really is
  6. Yeah, the moving comic book idea is one that describes 300 perfectly. It was a brutal action movie that was done in a cool memorable style. There are tons of scenes that would make good compelling comic book frames and that's a pretty good compliment to give a comic book adaptation. It's not supposed to be a hyper-realistic historical film, it's supposed to be exactly what it is, a cool, stylistic action flick, kind of like Gears of War but a movie. In fact, does anyone think it would be pretty cool if the director of 300 made the Gears film?
