There is a 32man tf2 server playing ff's version of well.

I hope not I hope it's possible to do 4fort, border1, and hunted.

I've always though halo was pretty mediocre. As far as consoles go time splitters, bond, and perfect dark set the standard and as far as i'm concerned noone has them beat yet. If only they had an on-line component.

Who's up for recreating cross the border? That was one of my fav maps from quakeworld TF. I don't know how you would go about it coding-wise.

It's the sf bay.... so not really a beach, I wouldn't swim in it. It's probably cold as shit too.

Has anybody noticed any differences from the beta?

Man, I almost spoiled the story for myself with the bioshock review. What I did see though was true and hilarious.

This is my first real attempt at making a texture. I'm pretty excited with the results however, but I've got a lot of tweaking to do. I'm not too happy about the concrete portion of the bottom pic. here's a crappy screenshot, but it shows them with bump map

I live in a town of like 50k and 25k of them are uni students so it is pretty small. I think we have about 3 dedicated butcher shops. There are also butcher shops that only open during hunting seasons, they are usually in more rural areas. Every supermarket has a butcher as well. But I will agree with the above post, they are predominantly in supermarkets, seems like the small mom and pop butcher establishments are going on the wayside. I live in alabama.

textures aside I think it looks pretty good, could use some work. Reminds me of that movie even horizon.

This is just a quick prop I made for a map i'm working on, it's a subway ticket gate and sign. The sign will end up as a separate prop. My main concern is tri count, is 1650 decent? Any comments welcome, I'll probably start to skin it soon.

I think you should get rid of the tile roof aswell... almost looks like it could be somewhere in the southwest us or mexico, if it weren't for the arabic grafitti. Also if you look at middle eastern architecture there's rarely sloped roofs as they don't need them since it never rains.

I started playing mafia 1 last night, just as good as it was back then I'm confident the trailer is in-game.

Notice the b17 formation overhead.... could take place during wwii? (perhaps 41'-45') I can't wait, mafia was probably one of my favorite games I've ever played. The story was awesome, particularly the ending. Edit: could be right about it being in the 50's as the styling in the 40's was pretty much carried over from the 30's since few cars were produced/design during the war... I wonder if there is any significance of the bombers, then.

His salary is actually lower than I would expect, however he's getting a huge bonus and probably pretty good stock options.

Yes, my game crashed like 5 times tonight within an hour. Never has done it that often.

If any one in the US cares, the MS thing is being aired on G4

Also I was prone earlier and some guy jumped on me and we ended up getting stuck on each other :-/ The sound effects are awesome btw... best i've heard ever, i think... spot on

Well here are my impressions... Look and feel seems pretty professional. Two problems that stood out to me: I kept finding my self getting stuck on objects, in doorways, and on props. The walking/running animation looks like you are on a treadmill. And yeah, it needs a map big time. I kinda wish that your player was a tad more survivable, or at least you could be incapacitated to where a corpsman can patch you up.

Well, Discreet was bought up by AutoDesk a few years back, and they are going to be merging some elements from both into a new package from what I hear, which is probably a good thing. But Autodesk did buy alias recently too... Kinda lame that Autodesk now pretty much has a monopoly on the 3d market. Personally, I started out with rhino3d along time ago, then to 3ds, then to XSI, and now I'm trying Maya. Since I've been in college, I've used autocad and now I'm using rhino for a class. Rhino, to me is the easiest to use. It would be an excellent app for just modelling props. I wish it was more prevalent in the gaming industry.

The beer that I buy the most regularly is Yuengling, It's relatively cheap and is a decent lager. However I think the most delish beer I ever tasted was a Chimay Ale. I also like guinness and boddington's but I don't drink either that regularly. Edit: I had belhaven on tap once when I was in Edinburgh, it was pretty damn good and I couldn't find any other place while I was there that had it. I also noticed alot of people saying heineken... that stuff sucks here in the US, I'm not sure exactly where it is brewed here. It may just be me though, because I don't like pilsner urquell or grolsch either.

nah, ave maria was played throughout the whole trailer. Don't want to be a stickler or anything but just thought I would say it. Schubert is like up there with Mozart btw, surprised you haven't heard of him
-
The song was ave maria by schubert, I don't think jesper kyd "redid" the song. But I'm glad they used it, it fit quite well with blood money.

Yeah I fired up the beta last night and honestly I'm not that impressed. The environment is very bland and in the graphics department the game looks like it could be almost 2 years old. Gameplay is alright, but if the quality of gameplay is consistent with the beta I would probably get tired of the game in a few days. Very mediocre, I was honestly hoping for more. However I will wait for the demo to make my final judgements.
