  1. Get the one that comes without the mouse, you will never use it.

lol wacom is still giving out mouses with their products? I dont think anyone ever has used a wacom mouse :D

One of my coworkers uses his as his only mouse.... I don't know how he does it. He has one of the bamboo models. They are actually easier to use on the smaller wacoms imo but I tried to use mine for awhile (intuos 9x12) and just couldn't stand it. I wish it worked more like a real mouse.

  2. It did say that fox has owned the rights to the movie since the 80's though, right? In that case, Warner is in the wrong. I don't think they should prevent or get all proceeds from the movie but legally they certainly deserve to get some sort of compensation for breach of contract.

  3. Speaking of Croatia, i've heard Split is very nice. It is purely a tourist/vacation spot, though.

My sister spent awhile in the Czech Republic and said it was one of her favorite European countries she had ever been to.

I've only been to England, Scotland, and France. I enjoyed them all, but the culture was too similar. Spain is next on my list, either that or some eastern european country.

  4. I wonder how much he had left after taxes.

    Enough.

    Gratz.

    Heh, that was my point.

I'm sure he had plenty of expenses not to mention I would think he had a few other people help him out with gmod, so i'm sure some of the money got spread around.

Does anyone know if he plans on any other projects or is gmod his sole focus right now?

  5. I really wish these movies were focused moreso on the story rather than the cars, then every teenager that finishes watching it wouldn't slam his riced-out piece of shit into a tree.

And now we've got a subaru in there... nice of them to finally catch on. The last thing we need are more fucktards thinking they are the next colin mcrae.

  6. thats the beauty of insurance :P i had to pay copays/deductibles for the two other visits too :\

    dang what is your copay?

I had just dropped my dental insurance at the time and had to fork over like $800 ( had just finished school, so I was out of my parents ins. and didn't feel like paying extra 20$/mo. for dental  )

I have some kickass insurance now, though... I wish my tooth could've waited a few months before it decided to go crazy, would've only cost me like 35 bucks + about 20 for meds.

edit: oh yeah , I forgot about having to go back to the dentist to get a crown put in, that was like $500

    sorry for going OT

  7. Is anyone here concerned with the replay value? I found it extremely repetetive even on expert (assuming you are playing with competent allies i.e. friends). Basically just comes down to fighting a wave of zombies, then waiting and progressing to another spot (usually the same are, even if not the map is so linear this is irrevelant) and repeating until you reach the objective.

Adding objectives to complete before and in order to arrive at the safe room would be nice, I hope the maps in the full-version contain stuff like this.

I think I was just expecting more suspenseful gameplay, mowing down a zombie horde is just too easy and it would be nice if there was a barricading element (I wouldn't count the mini-gun segment)

Solid game, though. I'm actually surprised valve/turtle rock didn't use a majority of hl2 assets, it looks like it's all new stuff. I can't wait till it's released so I can start working on my map some more.

  8. This new matchmaking system isn't cutting it, imo. It either connected me to a laggy server or ended up asking me if I wanted to host the game.

Ended up just using hte old school browser, worked 100x better.

So far either noone has voice or I join a game that has one guy using it and telling everyone they are idiots. I'm now patiently awaiting my friends to get their hands on the demo/game, then the game will be a blast.

The game has been crashing on me frequently... anyone else having problems?

edit: I was having the download issue as well, I had to pause and resume it a few times to start the dl up again because it kept on hanging up.

  9. I think it's mostly down to people wanting to put their weight behind a party they think will actually win. It's like in the UK we have many parties as you'd expect, but it's pretty much Labour vs Conservatives at election day and has been for decades.

Other parties are realistically going to take an awfully long time to gain anywhere near enough momentum to challenge either of the above, and probably not even in my lifetime, so I'm assuming most people choose to vote for their favourite of the two that stand a chance.

I think that most people are just "straight-republican" or "straight-democrat" and thats half the reason why it is the way it is. On our ballots the first two options are "all democrat" or "all republican"

Just shows you the way it is displayed to the voting public. Everyone is pretty much brought up on either it's one way or the other with little education on everything in-between, outside, or around.

    Just my theory, I guess.

  10. A question I'd like to have answered though is: Why are there only 2 significant major parties in the US? I personally think that there is something wrong with having only two parties that matter inside a democracy. And since people should know their country well, I'd like to know their own explanation of why it is like that and why it makes sense to you :) If that doesn't bother anyone.

I think it has alot to do with the media. There are plenty of parties out there, just not enough people know about them. It also has to due with the way campaigns have been run in the past 100 years. Back then candidates didn't spend their time selling themselves like cheap whores, rather the voters sought them out.

I don't really have a problem with Obama personally, he seems very level-headed. However we cross paths ideologically, but it's not as if he is single handedly going to turn this country into a socialist paradise. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the democrats have the legislative branch by the balls, just like the republicans have had during Bush's presidency. We've also had about the lousiest set of congressmen and senators in the past few years in US history, and with Pelosi it only looks to get worse. I really wish they would instate term limits in the congress and senate, then they would be more focused on serving their country rather than trying to keep their 'job'.

  11. I've been having a hell of a lot of fun with the game and I think its very good despite what you say. And the game never crashed and I don't see that many floating NPCs or half of the bugs you guys describe.

Hell today I saw a bug. I shot a merc in the face with the shotgun and to my surprize instead of having a gory mess he just flew up a hundred yards in the air... he died from the fall moments later :v

Now I had a great quest this morning when I'm just scouting the ruins and I get a radio signal. Turns out there are some guys trapped in the top of a hotel surrounded by supermutants. Getting them out was fun.

The feral ghouls in the underground are scary! Jumped out of my seat a couple of times already (I know you can hear them a mile away, but you can't exactly see them and they are fast!)

Tuning on the Galaxy Radio and hearing the news about your actions is pretty damn fun. I wonder if you play a bad character the guy's oppinions will be different.

I heard about some kind of oasis on the Galaxy Radio and am headed that way, lots of exploring to do!

That's pretty crazy because I found out about the mercs in the hotel in a totally different way. I found the location for the oasis after I overheard some raiders talking about it.

  12. I don't want to sound like a jerk, but I mean seriously when you are in the hole and the only way to free up some cash is to lay-off people what can you do?

If you are losing money and are required to scale back you have to cut staff, if you don't you will just run the whole company under which resulting in everyone losing their job. Look at the big picture.

The current economic situation most definitely has something to do with it, however I wouldn't lay all the blame... EA hasn't been doing so great in the past year or so... It's not really a surprise regardless.

edit: also, you must realise every company has holdings in the market. when the market tanks, they lose their net value. Also it is probably harder for EA to finance new games because of the credit crisis therefore in the next year or so they are probably not going to be able to make as much money/publish new products. It would be foolish to say it didn't have something to do with it.

  13. I'm about 8 hours in now... it's freaking awesome.

Big gripes: My game is crashing all the time, I did some cfg changes and it helped a little bit. Also my radio music is skipping along with the music in the main menu.

Everyone on the beth forums seems to be having the same problems and bethsoft hasn't even responded to anyone's issues at all... I can't remember the last game I played that was this bad with CTD's.
