I am a rabid Muse fan, been so since Origin of Symmetry, but I gotta say I'm a tad underwhelmed at the moment. I appreciated the different direction, but it just doesn't sound all that epic to me (compared to the last three albums), with the exception of the Exogenesis symphony. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album on it's own, and I'll be picking it up, but when you put it next to Absolution and Origin of Symmetry, it would fall flat if it wasn't for Exogenesis.
It probably just needs time to grow on me. I was a bit baffled by United States of Eurasia at first (a bit too "queen"-esqe for my tastes), but it has certainly grown on me. Uprising, Undisclosed Desires, and Exogenesis are awesome, but the rest just didn't have that same awesome punch that previous Muse has had.
I pretty much agree, one of the songs sounds almost like depeche mode or something(not a bad thing). Overrall though there isn't a whole lot that stands out. Definitely not their best album, hopefully it will grow on me.

ok i am gonna be this thereads dedicated troll/douchbag:
so lets get started:
-the sonic ip has pretty much always sucked sonic 1 and 2 were fun gameplay wise becasue it was sort of original but the ip has run their course right than and there ... really the gameplay was pretty flawed in 2d allready.
-all the ip milking stuff like the god awful tv show and stuff like sonicspinball should have told people that this ip is not here to stay
-reboot after reboot after reboot is not gonan solve this ... sonic IS OVER
-that teasertrailer is pathetic its not worth anyones attention or bandwidth if you have nothing to show than dont show ffs !
i conclude EPIC FAIL on all counts
I kind've agree with you on most points... but the tv show was awesome. (assuming you and I are talking about the same tv show, there where 2 differnt ones afterall)
This is coming from someone who grew up on genesis/megadrive instead of snes

Oh boy, can't wait for "Grenade of Grenade: Modern Grenade 2". Seriously, CoD4 multiplayer gets boring lightningfast due to the IMMENSE grenade spam. People just toss all their grenades once they spawn, use the rifle grenades asap, and once depleted; start firing in random directions, die quickly, and repeat the whole process. Now top this of with Martyrdom, and extra grenades perk. It's rare to NOT find a grenade indicator on your screen at any given time. Ok so I'm exaggerating, but that's pretty much how it is.
I really really REALLY hope that has been addressed for CoD:MW2.
Thats why you play in most tac hc servers, they usually autokick if you throw one within the first 20 secs. Same goes for bunny hop and rng. They kicked for marty, too.

I bought this last sunday and have been having a pretty good time with the single player campaign. It brings back alot of great memories from opfp.
Yesterday I tried out the multiplayer... I think I ended up logging about 6 straight hours, most of which on the same server. It could use some fixing that's for sure but at its' core it is a awesome experience. I just hope a good community evolves and the game sticks around for awhile.

American directors, producers, money, and a mostly american audience... I don't see any reason for anyone to complain. Honestly, what do you expect?
Besides, hollywood has been pretty generous in this category if I say so myself.
Btw, a movie was recently released about the polish resistance during wwii... It was called Defiance.
There are tons of movies you guys aren't mentioning or just aren't aware of.

Lets keep the ball rolling people

edit: sharpened a bit.
I'm working on new texture for my keres4 texture set. Just 1 brick from it, i want to know how its going

on this image it doesn't look right imo, and i have no idea why
i think it's the grout. You need to use a different base texture for your brick, it looks more like a rough concrete surface or almost gravel.
The edges of the brick are too fine, they need to be 'distressed' some. Assuming you are using layer styles, add some noise to your inner glow.
The grout itself doesn't look too bad, but you need to work with the color a little bit.

mmm, stereotypes ftl...
I only wish we pushed secondary language more in our school system. granted I chose to take latin for 3 years instead of spanish or french, so i'm not one to talk

I really do envy you guys for being fluent in multiple languages.
you're expected to have perfectly fluent English to work in the USI wouldn't say that is true, or atleast from what I have experienced. The company I work for just hired a loatian guy that doesn't speak very well at all, but his portfolio and talent/skills got him the job. I would guess it all depends on your occupation, though.

royalties for what?
From the recent XBLA port alone he should be owed quite a lot of money.
If by a quite a lot of money you mean $893, then ok.
In all seriousness, I don't think the sales were that stellar to warrant someone to complain about a lack of royalty pay.

I bought this game last weekedn on steam.... There's no doubt the game beautiful but in my opinion the tutorial never fully gives the player a grasp of the gameplay and you end up spending the whole time trying to figure it out and once you do the game is over.
I found this game more frustrating than entertaining. It was a step in the right direction, but god dammit, make it fun.

The L4D Authoring tools are out for those interested.
Page was removed.... however the beta is available apparently. I just enrolled in the beta for the sdk... dling a rather large update now.

You can probably get the best idea buy browsing the live for speed forum, it's probably the biggest online racing sim and there are some really hardcore players out there.
The logitech G25 is the the bees knees.

lol @ them playing alladin. That was great platformer.

This looks like fun! Like a happy version of Tideland.
I also like the music. What band is this? Reminds me of Architecture In Helsinki.
Rebellion by Arcade Fire.
It's a different version, though... they must have recorded that for the movie.

IMO it sucked since it was ALL the same. And everyone is hostile.
My sentiments exactly
I bought it this weekend also... all enemies are hostile, every mission is the same... novelty of the game world wears off fast... I am glad it was only $20. It doesn't feel like a game, more like a polished tech demo..

If they can shore up the capital to actually launch the service I will be surprised. Assuming they do I predict they would go out of business within 2 years. That's not to say that they are headed in the right direction, but the masses aren't ready for this and the technology isn't in place yet.
Give it a decade and this will be how games are played. Let's face it, it would benefit the publishers and developers if games were distributed this way... assuming the technology was in place to effectively deliver it there wouldn't be many downsides to the consumer.
This is not something I necessarily look forward to as I like to feel like I 'own' the game instead of just a license to play it, but I am not going to deny the fact that things are going to head in this direction whether we like it or not so we might as well learn to like it.

Fallout 3 ain't no original IP. And it did well, supposedly.
Fallout 3 is an interesting case... It might as well have had been a new IP because let's face it, the average 'gamer' hasn't heard of or played any of the previous titles and has no idea about the franchise. To me it is the same phenomenon that made bioshock a success as well.
I can't definitively say what made both of those titles a success (aside from the fact that they were AAA titles) but in my opinion it all came down to marketing and hype. I also think that EA marketed Mirror's Edge and Dead Space in a more unconventional way... maybe unconventional isn't the right term.
With both titles they tried to create a backstory or canon before the game actually launched via short films/comics/etc. even though the whole ip was unknown before it's release. It seems like they just jumped the gun and then fell short when it came to following through.
I am kind've rambling and a bit drunk, I hope that makes sense.
Also, to give a completely blunt opinion of wolfenstein in terms of what I have seen so far is that it should have come out at least a year ago. However if it has the same essence and feel that RTCW had, I am sure I will enjoy it.

I didn't want to buy used, so I got new, and the cheapest I could afford ... Made in Canada, who would've thought.

It's nice to see a 40k player in here, I tried to get into that way back when... I had a decent sized set but didn't know anyone to play with. I was more into painting and putting the models together anyways.

I would receive more enjoyment from a ton of people enjoying something I created. I can't ever see making enough money from donations to make it worthwile from a purely monetary standpoint.

200 dollars to put tires on wheels, balance them, mount them, and align the car. bring on the snow

Dang, you got kinda ripped! It should only be 70 for an alignment and 40 @ most for mount and balance. Don't pay that much again.

I was hoping for just a prequel. I am disapointed that they aren't doing this w/ bioshock 2.
I would also like the game to have some different gameplay elements because roaming around killing psychos all by yourself with pretty much no npc contact gets kind of boring after awhile. That is just my opinion. That was my only complaint with system shock 2, but I really hated the fact of no npc interaction.

Hey, does anyone still have this? Looks like it is no longer public. I upgraded to vista and apparently forgot to put it with all my other back-up stuff.

Any word if this will be released on steam? I'd sure give it a try if it was.
