  1. If you'r custom CS:S map if very good quality, both in graphical aspects but aswell, and very important, gameplay, it will be played!

And if you'r lucky to have you'r map played on the internet leagues and ladders, such as clanbase and ESL, you'll see you'r name all over the place.

So, why not? I don't think making custom CS:S maps is a waste a time.

  2. I think it hasn't been mentioned before that the engine runs on all platforms, without any modifications and adaptions. They do changes, compile their code and it runs on PC as well as on PS3.

    That's a huge bonus.

True that, It's like an universal code that works on all the platforms!

  3. Yes HP it looks good, but what's up with this fanboy like stuff :P

Well, ID's engines has almost always been the first ones including new stuff.

Like Doom3 engine for example, or (Id Tech 4) it was the first engine having normals maps with dynamic lightning, correct me if I'm wrong.

But yeah, I'm a self proclaimed ID fanboy! :P

  4. ahah, i just came to mapcore to post this! xD

    The engine looks superb!

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id_Tech_5 :

The demonstration with which the new game engine was shown had 20 GB of texture data (using a more advanced MegaTexture approach using textures with up to 128000x128000 pixel resolution) and a completely dynamically changeable world.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!! omfg, this is next-next-gen, lol!

ID has always been my Top1 fav gamedev company!

  5. But if I had the chance to make a mod, I'd go with UE since Source is such a dumb thing to work with, exporting, compiling etc. Like a simple small prop, you'll spend more time making it work ingame that you'd spend on making the damn thing.

    Amen

  6. Early Thursday morning, EA announced an exact ship date for Crysis. The game will arrive on Friday, November 16, at least half a year earlier than GTA4. "We're thankful to our fans for their support and patience, and we're excited to bring them Crysis this year," said Crytek CEO and president Cevat Yerli in a statement.
