Just a quick compile of a lil something...

Just a little screen of last few hours of works and a question... see those larger darker windows on the tower of the aquaduct? They are unusually darker than they should be and clash too much with the rest of the tower, on the other side they are correctly shaded, which is all obviously due to the light_env, to correct it I tied the models to info_lighting on the correct side but saw no change as well as turning off dynamic shadows and still no luck. Any ideas to work around this? Grr.

Yeah, I'm going to protrude those ledges out and once I get a proper light_env in there I hope it will create enough dynamic to make it not feel so repetitive. but!! i do know I need more textures... =x thx

Very much a work in progress... . but really wanted to post something =x it probably will be a de_ map..

My hardest thing about texture creation is making uniform and believable structures, like a door or window with an arch, or other detailed parts of a building.

Thanks alot guys, been dying for feed back. The killer part is that, its based off a real building that is quite vast and desolate. I mean, its primarily an inside map, what you see outside is entirely limited by that fense. I agree, more props would be good but I guess I'm scared of killing video cards! heh. If it weren't a real place or the guy that I'm making it for allowed me to fudge more extreme stuff this would be a lot easier hehe. dc-mike: I'll try that with the fixtures, and yeah, that couch needs a closer cube map for sure - surprised I missed that. /thanks.

The KKK felt very strongly about keeping blacks from registerting to vote. The Vatican felt very strongly against science. The (an oppressing ignorant group) felt very strongly about keeping (x) in place out of ignorance. Should we just mantain the status quo because these people will get upset, of course not. These actions, these riots, originated as a response to criticism, these riots are simply justifying and perpetuating those very criticisms and for that I believe they (Denmark) are not irresponsible. Proper and legit criticism regardless of the backlash is still proper and legit criticism and that should never be ignored or suppressed.

People in New Zealand are also a fair bit better off and better educated than your average Middle Easterner. The rest of the world has to tip toe around broken glass for Islam and cater to it at every possible chance. If the worst the world media can do is print a satirical cartoon then that is tolerance! The double standard here is the fact that the rest of the world is suppose to be tolerant of the intolerant. Doing so just solidifies their intolerance and ignorance. To crack the extremes of this ideology, well, have to crack some eggs to make an omelet – maybe they’ll recognize their unrealistic expectations and change for the better. Just because Catholics or New Zealanders are more tolerant means blasphemy is at least permissible? Or that since Muslims are less tolerant that rioting is justified or at least permissible? If you allow the less tolerant people to remain less tolerant because they are less tolerant then the rest of the world better start learning Arabic because appeasement is the only course if action within that mind set. We’d hate to upset the intolerant and ignorant because they are.

Of course, the only difference here is that these Catholics somehow managed to avoid rioting, burning cars, firebombing embassies, and killing each other. Funny how that works, isn’t it?

I don't know of any international recognized document concerning prisoners of war treatment outside of the Geneva Convention and that stipulates very many things, such as uniforms, recognized as a standing army of a nation, etc. I did not defend or deny Abu Grahib's actions. Pipe down before you hurt yourself.

If we're in a war, how come they aren't accorded POW rights? They don't have uniforms, aren't recognized by the standing army of any nation, etc.

Yeah it is a real building. I know exactly what you mean but I'm kind of forced to work with what it is. The building is even more empty than this lol. So I'll have to get really creative near the end with props and what not.

A map I am doing for my friend's datacenter (servers are still missing) and I'm about to start deplacement on the outside and surrounding area. This is my first Hl2 map and so far its proved interesting. Woo.
