I need to create a team of roughly ten mappers and artists to create the best cs:go map ever, based off on this reference image:
The map will be combining hostage rescue with the demolition mode. It will feature 20 bombsites, and every building will have a hostage inside apart from the cathedral. CT will have to take hostages to cathedral for rescue and T's will have to drive boat to island and plant at one of the 20 bombsites.
I think this idea is good because it's cool. It will definitely get in an operation. I emailed CS:GO dev team and they did not disagree.
I can't offer anybody any money, but full credit will be given in notepad documentation included in with map zip. I will take role of ideas man in this project, partly because I have a lot of ideas for bombsites (20, to be precise).
Can you all help?

Hah thanks Seldoon . I actually like that black bar for the interface, keeps it pretty clear like that. I'm still trying to figure out where I wanna go with it. The doom face is a cool idea but I think it's something uniquely for 90ies iD games that I don't want to rip off. It would kinda make this game obviously be trying to be a doom clone, which I don't think it is .
Right now the interface elements will be:
3 ammotypes:
-blue: shell based ammo (pistol, shotgun, chaingun)
-green: energy weapons (plasmagun, lasergun and teslagun)
-red: explosives (grenade launcher, sticky nade launcher and rocket launcher)
the purple number is money collected
2 healthbars, on for health and one for shield
my current thinking is putting money and items to the left of the screen, ammo to the right (in front of the gun, and only displaying for the guntype), and health and armor in the middle.
I'm currently switching over to the new unity UI so it'll be easier to play around with different setups
Castle: it's a unity based FPS I've been working on with procedurally generated levels, I've been slowly working on it for a few years, and am now finally pushing it into something more finalized . Core gameplay is pretty much run and gun with some puzzle elements and heavy physics manipulations (anything physics can be used as a weapon, even enemy gibs). The best way to describe the game i think is spelunky meets doom. It's hard, you will die a lot, and never play the same map twice

Aight, new level, bitches! It's called Hoxton Revenge and it's a follow-up to "Hoxton Breakout". The goal is to infiltrate an FBI Safehouse where a rat is being kept. The information about this safehouse was uncovered in the previously released "Hoxton Breakout". It's stealth-focused but can be completed with guns blazing.
Scroll down for a video. You might recognize a blue:ish geometric shape on someone's t-shirt...

This game is fun. It's like classic Sim City but with awesome road tools.
I tried building a town to be as shitty and unpleasant as possible but still have growth last night. Only used dirt roads. Crime soon hit 45%. Things started to get interesting when i got close to 5000 population. Thanks to having landfills and industry in the center of town and no clinics a public health crisis happend. I lost 2000 people rapidly with their corpses rotting in the streets. Even after building 3 hospitals i had over 2000 sick people and only 300 hospital beds. Thanks to drastic budget cuts and tax raises i managed to turn still a profit. There was dead, decay, fire and crime everywhere. It was like managing an African town during Ebola outbreak. Eventualy i cashed out with over 130k $ in the bank and almost all citizens dead.

A bunch of announcements >: D
Thanks to the Reddit mods hosting testing Santorini and Mirage2 on their servers and organizing, over 53 games were played on Mirage2 last night alone. That's a lot of data to parse I highly recommend using their services if you're trying to test out a new map.
As for Santorini, the map's layout has been finalized by testing and is also completely sculpted and ready for textures!
I've also decided on a theme for Mirage2 (now DE_VICE): Miami Vice! It'll be cool to make a map in my home state.

⌐■_■ reacted to Minos in What's going on with your life?
A crazy coincidence happened today.
I went to the beach to walk around a bit and enjoy the nice weather. We stayed there for about 50 minutes/1 hour and on the way back to the car I realized that I completely forgot to add time to the meter (never happened before). I rushed back expecting a ticket or my car being towed but when I get there however, i look at the meter and it says 00:00 and one second later it shows in big letters EXPIRED. Someone who parked in that spot before me left the exact time that I stayed at the beach, down to the seconds... If this happened 1 or 2 seconds earlier I would have never known about it and just assume the meter had been out all that time.
What are the odds? Guess it's my lucky day

Contest idea: Fix Nuke.
Starting with the VMF that ships with the sdk (or an up to date version of Valve will release it), each contestant makes the changes they think would "fix Nuke" and submits a bsp with working radar etc. as well as a rationale for their redesign.
The mapcore community then choose their favourite 3-5 versions and we invite a bunch of pro/high-ranking players to spend a few hours streaming matches on them.
Much debate and squabbling takes place, and then if a "fixed" version can be settled upon by a majority vote, we submit the new version (or perhaps even a version containing a mixture of the favourite fixes) to Valve for consideration.

⌐■_■ reacted to Corwin in Corwin's house renovation adventure
New roof on the bit where the living room has been extended out of the house. Still need to finish the wooden boards on each side, the front's done already though.
Starting to close up everything that's still open, so as to be able to do the finish pass on it all asap. We're sick of living in a 2 rooms flat, our kids are going crazy in there, my wife is slightly depressed, etc. We gotta move into our house as soon as I can make it liveable.
I'm done with almost everything that cost money, I expect to spend only like 2-3000 euros more to finish (in paints and stuff), all the rest I already bought. Probably will still be another couple of months before it's in a decent state, all those little things add up and the drying times of clay are super long (2-3 weeks by this weather)
I also decided at the last minute to lay down some cables for TV/Sat even though I hate that shit, because that will help selling the house eventually. We're now considering exactly how to light up the rooms, what sorts of lamps we want, if we divide them up into smaller light sources like spots, etc. so I can lay the last electrical cables before closing up the ceilings.
