  1. Sure :)

    • I was thinking about a lightmap check, where as all faces are checked to see if they have a legit lightmap number assigned since I've had my lightmaps somehow automatically change after a compile (even into uneven numbers) which has caused me to give up on some of my maps.

    • Something that would automatically destroy incorrect displacement faces or marks them with a recognizable texture (i.e. if a world brush has one or more displacement faces).

    • A feature that automatically deletes invalid microbrushes and devides surfaces too large to have any valid lightmap values into chucks that can be lit properly.

I know that for most compile related problems there is a workaround, but it would be nice if there'd be some application to ''clean your map up'' before your last compile or just as something as a last resort for newer mappers with compile problems.

Again, I'm no programmer so I have no idea if these features would be easily realised or simply impossible. One thing that I do know tho, is that the source engine is quite old, and if you're aspiring to be hired within the games industry it might be a better idea to invest your energy into a newer engine.

Anyway, good luck! Personally I'm happy to see you putting all these effort into something I might use myself so I'll be following this :)

  2. i saw some real gems in your collection but the quality of your photo's seems a bit unbalanced to me sometimes. I think that might be caused by a little incoherent colormanagent (i would try to make some distinction in styles - think about what you wan't to photograph, with what goal and then decide what post process -if needed- needs to be subtlely applied) I really like some of the quite daring lines and compositions in your photo's, like this one, or this one., although some photo's are a little sloppy. Like this (non symmetric and for my personal likings too saturated).

the last thing i'd like to add is that i really like the depths and lighting in some of your shots!

one question tho, why no portraits? some of your photo's would've been awesome with people in them :)

  3. i crinched my asscheecks while whatching that presentation with the ''downloadable girl'' part as climax... luckily, i'm still pretty exited about this. hope it has the same ''weight'' as the witcher series :)

  4. I guess originality is nothing these days then, if even some pros here get impressed by something that's basically 1:1 copy with 100% ripped content. :shake: I would be okay of a remake though, if you tried to make it your own somehow, by altering layout or having bit different looks that makes it look less of a clone.

Sure, it does look nice, but I could almost say it's by no means because of your level designing skill/creativity.

could it be possible that being original wasn't his intent to begin with?

  5. it's probably nothing, you won't believe how many dudes have painful balls and even íf there is something strange like a little bulb or something; in most cases it's not cancer, or at least not a deadly form anyway. i'd be glad to have my balls scanned, just to be sure nothing is wrong! sucks to have a dude check 'm out tho... no female doctors around? :D

  6. saw cloud atlas in the cinema this morning. after watching the trailer (which is a work of art in it's own right) i was kinda disappointed too. it's not that the movie is bad, it just isn't that good as the trailer suggests imo... didn't get boring tho, just not as subtle and awesome and meaningful as i would have hoped :D
