You don't publicly state that you're to reduce your nuclear capabilities in response to a rival state declaring they will increase theirs, that's just idiocy. Nuclear weapons exist as a deterrent because MAD is guaranteed, the rational powers understand that mounting any kind of war against each other will lead to complete destruction of the world and thus no one is insane enough to challenge that. Still in order to maintain that doctrine, you have to actually possess those capabilities. in an age where the nuclear stockpile of the two superpowers has aged and many are fast becoming unfit for purpose, it makes sense to take steps to strengthen and replace munions since "expanding nuclear capability" doesn't necessarily mean increasing numbers, rather replacing old weapons and updating current systems to be more efficient. Remember, the atom bomb prevented millions of lives being lost in the Pacific campaign of WWII, the Cold war remained cold because both sides were terrified of the prospect of any kind of hot war, nuclear weapons have contributed greatly to world peace. The greatest issue now is that whilst in the past those with nuclear capabilities understood the point was to prevent war, some of the actors with nuclear weapons today aren't nearly as rational and might not have any issues with setting the world on fire... Anyway... in other news, the celebrities are at it again... Dear People who still don't fucking get it, this is the kind of shit that led to Trump securing victory in the first place... I agree with anyone that nuclear weapons are horrific and I'm all for them being scrapped but it will only happen when the whole world gets together to do it. People in this country like Corbyn want to get rid of our nuclear capabilities, but it's absolutely crazy to do so when a rogue state like North Korea is seeking to construct ICBMs... I still need to play the first one properly, I've played several hours of it at friend's houses though. True story, I actually bought the game twice without being able to play; First time, I ordered the game from Amazon and it came without a disc! So I sent it back and got a refund because they were out of stock. I then got it from a store only to find the disc did not work and it froze on loading!! However, in order to somehow become president she has to pretty much win all the states, which is possible but very very unlikely if you look at the figures. Michigan has already done another recount and Trump's lead narrowed from 13,107 to 10,704 votes ahead, but he still carries the state. In pennsylvania he is currently ahead by 70,000 votes, in Wisconsin it's 22,000 votes. Unless all those votes are somehow invalidated, she still can't win...

Even James Clapper the former director of National Intelligence who resigned the other day said "intelligence agencies don't have good insight on when or how Wikileaks obtained the hacked emails" ! Nevertheless, Jill Stein is now attempting to raise funds from a crowdfunding page to recount the votes for PA, MI and WI because by default the results can only be contested if the margin in the elecoral college for each state is small (less than 0.5%). Can I just remind everyone that the DNC rigged the primaries against Bernie to make sure that Hillary would be the nominee, now they want a recount because it *might" have been rigged? There are now three states left to be counted, Clinton will take New Hampshire and Trump is going to take Arizona and Michigan which opens up the possibility that he could win the popular vote as well as the Electoral College, some people are already saying he has but I can't find any actual sources (it's irrelevant anyway as the EC wins the presidency). I'm looking at the exit polls voter stats from the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/11/08/us/politics/election-exit-polls.html Contradictory to the claims that "whites" tipped the balance, it looks as if white voters were actually only up 1% for Republicans from 2012! Black voters were mostly in the Democrat sphere as would be expected but Black votes for GOP were up by 7%! Hispanic/latinos voting for Republican were up by 8% and take a look at all the Asian voters.. up by 11%! Female voters is even more interesting, women voting for Clinton were only up by a mere 1% next to 2012!! 42% of women voters went for Trump! By religion, others apart from Christians, Catholics and Jews were up 18% for GOP, of which there will absolutely be muslims in there! So it just shows that as you would expect, the voter demographics are are far more complicated like most elections than painting it as just "1, 2 or 3".
