    Plasticity

I found a great simple software called Plasticity which kinda neatly simplifies NURB editing with a very CAD like UI. Really powerful stuff when you start messing around with it. You can create really awesome hard surface models with ease when you don't need to mess around with polygons what so ever. https://www.plasticity.xyz/ Anyone else tried this one?
  3. While I do love Tribes until death. I don't know if it's the type of game people like to play. The vast distances and great speeds make the game often feel like you're just chasing blips on a minimap or UI icons with hundreds of meters. When nowadays people want to purchase cosmetics to look better than others and show off. I remember playing some beta of sorts of a Tribes-like game some years ago which I don't remember the name of anymore. I wonder where that went.
  4. I started playing The Callisto Protocol since it was on PS plus. It's like an art gallery of sci-fi corridors. The environments are really something.
  5. PS plus has been amazing for me since I've never owned a Playstation until I got PS5. Since the last year I've played most of the exclusive series from back to back, Uncharted, God of War, Last of Us... but just recently they unexpectedly pulled all the Metal Gear games when I was just about to start to play them. Talk about a big massive fuck you to a lot of people, including me, thinking 'classics catalogue' would be something that would be constantly expanding once the time goes on. I hope that means PS4 and PS5 are getting Metal Gear remasters, which will probably be dog shit knowing who's behind the publishing. OK enough about the rant. Been enjoying God of War Ragnarök, though the core gameplay is so much of the same as the last one. I feel it's wearing down on me although It's constantly making it's best to mix things up.
  6. It’s really frigging sweet. In movies it’s not so much of a difference. I’ve seen few blurays but I couldn’t tell the difference. But in games it really makes the image pop when used with proper tone mapping. It took me few months before I realized to turn off the horrible TV default HDR setting and use HGiG mode. I recommend looking that up. I just wish HDR were implemented in games more often. Playstation should have the XBox equivalent auto HDR feature so that we could play older titles with deeper colors. Ghost Of Tshusima especially has some of the best HDR I’ve seen so far.
  7. Scratched some things off the "I'll buy it when I absolutely have to" list a good bed a car Holy hell I did not expect how comfortable it is to sleep on a good mattress. My chronic sore back just completely relaxes for the night. Though I don't think my sleep has gotten that much better after the later purchase, my previous car was really at it's last leg. Being this poor all of a sudden gives me anxiety.

    Ghost of Tsushima

I played the ps5 version of this. It's crazy how well it's put together, it's one of the best open world games in my opinion. The minimalistic approach for the HUD worked so well. Using a wind mechanic as a guidance system was brilliant. Though they still needed a blinking HUD element to highlight the interaction point when you got close enough. There were only a handful of instances where I didn't get that indicator and took me a few minutes to find the exact place for a button press. One of the few open world games where the combat didn't feel like tedious busywork at the end of the game.

  10. I went to see it the other day. Felt like I was watching the latest Star Wars.
  11. I like my country. Recommended, Finland’s fucking weird, you’ll love it. I don’t travel much anyways. Makes me just miss home. Good luck with getting better. Mental health is no joke. I was denying my depression long enough without seeking help when I should have. I hit rock bottom. Times were different back then, never saw a doctor or took a pill. Took me long time to recover back to my normal self.
  12. There's some kind of a marketing 'app' for the newest consoles. https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/wakeup This smells like one of those Fortnite live events.. Did Epic just made me download Fortnite?
  13. If you can play it you can map for it. Hammer tools have been around ages and been running on computers with less power than yours. Small amount of RAM might be an issue with large maps though. Give it a go.

    Unreal Engine 5

Super interesting stuff. Before watching that deep dive video, I knew there was some virtualization black magic stuff happening with Nanite just from watching how it's set up from the Early Access and what features it currently supports. But the fact that it's just triangles that are changing in sub-pixel level makes it just as that, and that I truly understood less than half of the words in that video. Virtualized black magic stuff. Can you even say black magic anymore? I haven't hung around in them Twitters for years.
  15. 6 hours in and I've just shaken the training wheels. It does like to take it's time to explain how to "break the loop" which I honestly don't mind. theres a lot of mechanics and systems that needs a thorough explanation since it feels like the game opens up a lot after that. Some signs of a bumpy launch. I would have loved to try out online on my first level when making my first assassination but I couldn't connect to the online service yesterday. The game itself works amazingly good on PS5 with the 60fps mode. A funny incident with my first AI Julianna encounter. I had just setted up a turret for no apparent reason in the rooftop next to Colts aparment and when she showd up, I just ran past my turret off the rooftop and she just ran into my turret and got shred to pieces instantly. So my first Julianna encounter lasted less than 30 seconds. I quite like it so far!
