    Alien: Isolation

This better be a puzzle game else what am I doing in this but touring the nostromo with my pal xeno taking some sweet screen shots
  2. lol what's the difference between the E3 footage and that leaked alpha? Internet 180's are amazing
  3. The benefits of an out of game server browser far outweigh any of the positives (there are none) of having it in your in-game UI. I can't think of a single reason why it's better for the developer or the player to implement a server browser in game aside from people unwilling to accept anything at all different. But wait, Steam does this and has for 10 years and it's amazing and life changing, no more fucking around just jump into your MP match and you're good to go. Battlefield does it and it's the worst thing that's happened to the human experience and gives you diarrhea also.
  4. I'll buy 5 extra copies to make up for everyone here, jokes on you
  5. Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed is the best mario kart game after Blur. Buy both if you like dead genres.

  7. I guess for a genre that's only been recognized outside of mods for just a few years it's had its share of games announced since then. The impression you get is that every one and their sister is trying to get one out there. And what's it only been, 4 years since League came out? I certainly can't mistake anyone for thinking it's crowded but when you look at what's actually there it's relatively sparse. I guess you could add Dawngate to that list as well, it seems more in line than something like Smite. Which I played the tutorial of and feel my conclusion of 'yep that's dota in third person and it's as awkward as you would expect' was pretty accurate. Pro game developer mentality right here. I might even watch a youtube of it to further develop my opinion
  8. They don't require as much raw reaction time though. CS/Q3/Starcraft I/II are far more demanding on just an input level than dota. There's just that initial knowledge base that throws up that wall and I guess if you aren't familiar with War3 mechanics it's even steeper. I'd say they're more approachable than a shooter, since they're a balance of input/knowledge/strategy, with the latter 2 being the heaviest. I consider my self pretty good at the video games and counter strike/Quake 3 scares the living shit out of me far more than any dota-like game ever has.
  9. Man it really is a dark day when this is the first thing full of shit cunts focus on when they get a new game: hastily switch on some texture detail settings and then proceed to run around and hump the walls and complain they saw a low res paint bucket mesh and record a youtube video of it with commentary so other people can watch it instead of just playing the game as it was intended. And then create another one talking about how they're a fucking idiot but oh look this flag texture is still kinda low res, lol, terrible, lol It's not a fucking material simulation program, it's call of duty. 'Dated looking mess of a game'. Jesus fucking christ. brb, gonna try quitting the internet forever.

    Battlefield 4

I've put 10 hours into the game since tuesday and I still don't think I'm even close to being able to coherently judge the game at all. There's a ton to take in, not sure I've even played all the maps yet. Had a lot of great moments so far and it's actually changed some subtle but pretty impactful things that I wasn't expecting. The ammo loss on reload is one of those, the game's actually shifting back more towards 1942/BF2 era mechanics than BF3. The game feels a touch slower and the perks aren't instantly activated anymore and are hardly as apparent as the old BF3 perk system. In general it just feels like a more paced, tactical version of BF3. Plus TDM's and Domination don't feel quite as much of a clusterfuck as BF3, as fun as that was at times.

    Game News

I can rarely get through an article these days without my eyes bulging out of my head and involuntarily ctrl-w'ing that shit. So I go to neogaf and read thread titles to see what's happening.

    Playstation 4

That said, unless you're REALLY looking forward to get your hands on the fresh breeze of next gen, there's not a lot of incentive to do it right away, the launch titles even though this is the best launch titles list from any console ever released, it's still a short list and many of them are cross platforms. No PGR for Xbox is a goddamn travesty. Even if you could see it coming 4 years out. Forza doesn't fill those shoes and I honestly can't think of anything else off hand. Killzone is a solid launch title but that's really it.
  13. I'd be down for some games

  16. It should mean publisher and creative independence but if you're not a small team making emotionally empowering games they couldn't make at big studios like medieval toon shaded 4 player coop loot games or first person walk abouts sniffing your sisters underwear while shes gone you're just not fucking indie man

    Thief 4

Narrative Focus Story Driven No gameplay Shouldn't RPS be eating this up? Wait it's by a big publisher. Guess it's more like Thief 4 out of 10 then.

    Battlefield 4

The same could probably be said for Bad Company 2 except the only difference being no one played BC1. Also I always thought people generally perferred 2004 to 2003. They would be wrong of course but I always thought that was the consensus. Also reading your post again I don't understand the analogy. Unless more people are stilling playing BF2 than BF3. what the fuck

    Destiny

Can't wait to find some phat lootz with my shitty gun that looks slightly different than your shitty gun that shoots with -0.375 less spread and does +0.25% dmg against Enlightened Space Trolls when my health is below 25% during the night time.
  20. Maybe I'm just highly skeptical of a device that's being continually compared to a track pad as if that's some kind of a positive lol
  21. Playing a competitive RTS at even the lowest skill level would be a nightmare. Control groups and any kind of real micro would be basically impossible, hot keying, minimap movement, etc. All of this would be undoable. You wouldn't be able to play something like Dota or Starcraft in the way they were designed to be. It would be like playing a fighting game with a keyboard. You can do it but it's borderline non functional for that kind of game.
  22. People can't be serious about playing any rts with this thing can they
  23. Played a few chapters of Shadow Warrior. It's a lot of fun. I'm not big on all the upgrades, I'd rather this stuff was found in the levels or gained through some other means cause I hate keeping track of all these resources and traversing menus to spend them in a game like this. They could have dropped some of the framework from Hard Reset for that stuff. But good so far. Also the dash is one of the coolest things about the game. It's simple and basically just the UT double tap but fuck it it works well.
  24. If you do, I can recommend the "Cinematic Mod 12", It's like 11gb, but it's worth it imo. Just went through the Cinematic Mod site and it looks good. Did you find it affected the tone/mood of the original game much? While an artistic improvement, it's hard not to notice this environment for example looks much less barren and depressing: Yet stuff like this looks amazing: Not sure this screen is an improvement really. I think a lot of the impact of the devastation is sorta lost here. Like how there's barely anything left is way more interesting and memorable. And I don't think you ever view that scene from that angle anyway, you're pretty much always at street level. Also the orange building facades are way more identifiable as City 17, the shot on the right looks like new york crysis 2 on source engine or something. also the prominence of the citadel is kinda lost

    GTA V

You can also rob the armoured bank vehicles by shooting the back doors a few times or blowing the truck up Tried to do this on a bike with an uzi. Didn't work out. I'm pretty sure I did it with a uzi. You need to hit the centre of the door as far as I know Oh no doubt, just don't try doing it while on a bicycle.
