I can accept some resistance to apocalypse now. It's a demanding watch and can test your patience but it's one of the greats so you might just have to eventually come to terms with your bad taste. Also I wouldn't be so dismissive about the source material. Painting Coppola as the port-studio equivalent of a film maker is some pretty damning shit. My goodness. Patton was quite good and disqualifies at least that portion of your argument. I haven't read shit from Grisham but I'll go out on a limb and say he ain't a high water mark for PROSE FICTION. What's usually regarded as low-brow reading is often turned into high-art films, not because the source was so good but the film turned it into something more. Like The Shining. But I like Godfather III so maybe I'm not the best one to talk to about this.

It's a good little machine it just doesn't have a lot to play. Mario and DK are geat, even if 3D World is probably the weakest 3D Mario. I'd say the 3DS 3D Land was better overall. Still ridiculously well made game though. Tropical Freeze is great, start doing the time trials and you see just how well made the levels are. And you can actually do them this time since you don't have to shake the controller to roll, which straight up ruined time trials for me on the Wii version.

I thought I remember you auto-getting the item when an enemy dies off a cliff in the previous game. Possible he died and didn't drop anything...

I did a two handed wanderer/katana dex/stamina playthrough first go and a spear/shield/strength play through after that. Shield/Spear was a lot of fun, attacking while blocking is too good. I don't think I've ever played a straight up mage before in these games. I remember doing a bit in Demon's Souls but it was a cake walk for the first couple levels.

I made it to level 100 or so and somehow manged to miss the entrance to huntsmans corpse. So I've sort of been playing this shit in reverse lmao. Just stomped through that forest like it was nothing. I sort of did the same thing in Dark Souls where I cleared the fucking catacombs before touching the area passed the dragon in undead burg. That was an interesting first experience through the game...

I"m around level 84 now. Series is still in a class of its own level design wise. It practically doesn't get any better. The world structure and pacing set the bar some time ago and I don't know that it's been matched. Destroying people for the rat king is some devious shit. Poor people that wander into that place, I'm honestly not sure how I've got this many so far since there's about fuck all to find in the graves but they keep coming. Pretending to be a stone rat statue to back stab someone may be the highlight of my life. Trying hard not to reply to that abomination of a post above, whoo boy.

Yeah, I mean, the game was a fucking mess. Just not quite the mess that's been reported. Expecting measured reactions from the internet is pretty fucking stupid of me though, I'll admit.

Game's been playable on PC since 2 weeks after release. Worst thing still occurring is apparently PS4 rubber banding on high player count servers. That shit sucks but the PC side has been fine for awhile if a crash here or there doesn't make you furious and storm off to twitter to tell the world precisely how mad you are in a post that clearly shows what a calm, collected individual you are and someone we'd all want to hang out with sometime.

The Counselor. I don't know but I got this feeling that this is some shit Kubrick would have done if he'd been alive these days. It's got a special weirdness and deliberateness just done by Ridley Scott instead. Of course everyone fucking hated it but that sort of makes this retarded idea even more plausible.

All I see is a developer continuing what they set out with from the start. You're pretty much wrong if you think every developer isn't basically trying to do the exact same thing. Everyone is looking for something they can iterate on for at least a decade or so, the difference is most developers don't find that. IW/Respawn did. Every popular MP game was basically made 15-20 years ago. I could see the retread criticisms if it wasn't for the fact that there's very few examples of this not being the case. Didn't seem to bother anyone that TF2 was pretty much exactly TFC at its core (which in turn was QF). Of course, it didn't look like TFC, so most weren't bothered. Or were shits and hadn't played the predecessors. Point is if you're mad about Titanfall not sure how you're cool with the current state of multiplayer in general. They're all old ass games with modifications from iterating overtime. That's pretty much how it's done.

I've clocked 100+ at this point. BF3 has better direction art wise, though BF4 is pushing more in terms of scale (I guess what do I know) but something is lost along the way, thing's don't feel as coherent. BF3 stuck with a pretty consistent set of environments for the most part and everything had a nice even layer of grit and dirt on it, including the weapon models. There's probably more different places and shit in BF4 I guess, but BF3 is so coherent visually in every way compared to BF4 it's hard to ignore. And the DLC maps improved beyond what shipped with BF3. Aftermath maps were fucking so good, fuck. That market level was incredible looking. Maps themselves is tough. Lots of neat ideas all over the place but only Shanghai and Paracel Storm feel like the real deal in BF map terms. They offer lots of unique shit to play out plus paracel harkens back to battle of midway 1942 glory days a bit. Shipped maps in general are fine just boring and safe for the most part. Seem to be more focus on symmetrical layouts in most cases. It's the Black Ops of Battlefield maps-wise. Commander is dumb/useless, pretty much made for Ipadding twats to feel like they're contributing. AC-130's are dumb. china rising maps are dumb. Spawning sucks in domination. Oh and floodzone domination layout, wtf. A-B are like 5 feet from each other with C 1km away and then you get spawned like half away across the map away from everything. I don't get it. /expert videogame analysis game is still good but is not the immaculate conception we know as BF3. also why they never brought back Grand Bazaar is a good onel. Best map from 3 totally overlooked. oh yeah something something Origin, malware, not buying titanfall, etc
