actuallly, there are many more game modes other then the ones you listed that we're planning to incorporate, hopefully at least 20 unique game types, so that if we have per-se 20 maps, they can be reused with different game modes to keep things interesting.

The engine we're using, supports halflife and quake 3 maps. So you will need no further mapping knowledge beyond halflife or quake3. At the moment, we are compiling the maps using the standard Halflife FGD, because all the gameplay modes are still being coded. It would be great if you could make some maps. The name of this game has been changed to MIASMATA Hello Mapcore! I am the lead mapper for a standalone game called Miasmata which uses the darkplaces engine. (found at http://www.icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/ ) we are in need of some mappers that will be willing to contribute their efforts to help create a more enjoyable game. The game features a single player and multiplayer mode, 4 different classes, bots, and a slew of interesting weapons. We are not too picky when it comes to skillset, but a good knowledge of Valve Hammer Editor, Worldcraft, or GTKradiant would be needed. This game does not focus on any particular theme, so any mapper will be left to their own creative integrity.
