  1. Note, these are all photoshop tweaked, consisting of cropping and hue/saturation/lightness adjustments. First, heres the toad! He's crazy! The toad was completely gray. I took the original color and cycled through the entire hue adjustment spectrum, and the toad stays the same!! Its freaky to watch all the colors change around him but he stays.. weird toad. He's also sitting on a leaf that is perched on a branch of a small bush, he's about 8inches above the ground in that photo. He sat there for 2 days, then disappeared... we spotted him later on in the same bush but further in, about a foot off the ground. I never knew toads could climb trees. Pictures of my house/yard... Front door and a chair: Yard: Enjoy! (p.s. I know my camera sucks, especially the 3rd and 4th house picture...)
  2. I love the sky! heres a couple more images of it, also photoshop tweaked The thing that caught my eye on the original pic was the sky... on all these the sky is just white
  3. Okay, a little backstory on this one to make it interesting. This is/was a dunkin' donuts building near my house. Apparently about a week ago, people spotted a wire dangling from a telephone pole, which appeared to be a live wire. It was ~8feet above the ground. They called Connecticut Light and Power, but they didn't do anything for a few days... a few days later, a big wind storm hit, shook the wire free and it hit a parked car, which lit the car on fire... it lit the car next to it on fire, etc etc until the building itself caught on fire. It burned pretty good, not much left of it... as well as the 4 or so cars in the parking lot. The cars burned completely as well. Anyways, this photo was taken with a Canon digital Elph camera, nothing special. Pretty crappy actually. I was driving by with my dad, snapped a few photos as we drove around the building(car is a convertable ). I took a few not-so-spectacular photos, then this one I just kinda stuck my hand out and hit the button as we were rolling away. I liked it, the framing and content is actually quite nice. I did a little photoshopping, basically I stretched it out sideways a bit and edited the brightness/contrast/hue/saturation a tad. I can post the other photos if you're interested.
  4. strangelove > *. Although strangelove is very funny, it may just have too much good juicy content and meaning to truly be a comedy. But I suppose it fufills the major qualification... being funny. blazing saddles is classic.. spaceballs.. young frankenstien... Mel Brooks in general. of course super troopers for your inner stoner. big lebowski is probably my favorite overall. That movie is fucking amazing. The fact that it is based on a true story really blows my mind. Fast and the furious, both of them. I couldn't stop laughing. It really had me wondering what the hell was going to happen next. It is so bad its a parody of itself. Monty Python anyone? Princess Bride is waaay up there for me. That movie is great. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0400172/
  5. sim-anything pretty much. Although sim-ant would make a kick ass movie. Did dinopark tycoon come before Jurassic Park? :edit: they both came out in 1993 : Half life would make a kickass movie, although it'd be tough to do, because I would feel weird about having Gordon talk. Only way to follow Gordon's story and not have him talk would to film it in first person.. And a movie from first person would be... wierd. might as well just play the game. This thread would be much more interesting if we debated what games would make kickass movies. Almost every game would suck as a movie. CS, 2 hours of 8 clones of 2 guys running around in a small, sealed area killing each other. Fun. I'm really not sure what games I think could be made into a movie... not a whole lot of few games have plots involved enough to create a unique movie. HL1:OpFor would make a kickass movie though.
  6. hmmm. The blame might be on the parents and classmates for lack of support/teasing/etc, but there is no way anyone is going to 'fix' any of that. There will always be teasing in school, there will always be shitty parents. There will always be psychopath kids who can't handle this stuff. As hard as it is for me to say, outlawing firearms is the only logical way to reduce the damages of said psychopaths. But we've forgotten something important - There is a weapon far more dangerous than a gun that is also far easier to get. Remember, you have to be 21 to buy a gun, highschoolers aren't 21. Granted their parents might have one, but not everyone's parents have a gun, nevermind the freakin arsenals that many of these highschool rampagers go in with. Bombs. There is no way to outlaw bombs, since they can be very easily constructed out of some basic household materials. Put a few pipe bombs in a classroom full of kids... The damages would be far worse than a gun. A pistol only holds at most 20 shots. A pipe bomb can be covered in nails and filled with ball bearings. Far more horrific damage than a gun. Remember the psychos at Columbine planted several bombs around the school.. thank God they didn't set them off. If these kids are crazy enough to march into school with guns, I have no doubt that they'd spend a few hours the day before building a bomb or two if they couldn't get a gun.

The red dot is where I live. The blue circles... well those are golf courses. I didn't bother looking in other directions, but theres more. If only I golfed. A few of the other green blobs on there are other smaller golf courses or driving ranges. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=farmingto ... &t=k&hl=en Look for yourself...

    I had to do it...
  13. I've never had any really serious injury, not even a broken bone. Fractured my finger once. Cut myself innumerable times. I have what I think is remarkable pain tolerance.. Don't get queasy at the sight of blood or any of that. Twice I've put cigarettes out on my hand(once while drunk(right palm), once sober(right thumb...), it really doesn't bother me. I've cut myself twice with a 4 1/2" composite cutting/grinding wheel meant for cutting steel, once on my left middle finger(probably around 3/8" deep, to the bone) and once on my right kneecap. The grinder grabbed on the piece of metal I was cutting, jumped out of my hands, and the blade skipped across my kneecap, leaving 3 cuts. The first was about 1.5-2" and down to the kneecap, the other two werent as long but deeper because they hit the soft fleshy part below the kneecap. I was a little nervous to use it for a few days, but it was the result of a crappy brand of blade, so that went away quickly. Man, that blade will go through anything in a heartbeat. Both of these instances the blade touched me for a fraction of a second. I was wearing leather gloves and my finger just happened to touch it, the blade had no problem going right through the leather and my finger. Then I kept using the glove and burned the same spot probably 15 times, so it scarred =/. I was wearing jeans when it hit my kneecap. One time one of my friends was sitting on the trunk of a car and the person driving(another friend) floored it, the kid slid off the trunk and landed on his head. Gave himself probably a 3/8" little cut in his scalp, on the back/top of his head, but man that cut bled like CRAZY. His hair was doused in blood, his sweatshirt was covered, and we must have used 20 paper towels trying to stop the bleeding. It was a mess. My other friend(the driver) couldn't stand looking at him, all the blood made him nauseus. One thing that does freak me out is heights. Its not even like I'm afraid I'll slip and fall, its that there is this fucked up voice in my head wondering what would happen if I jumped. So whenever I'm on a balcony or something I'm having this mental battle with common sense like "you don't want to kill yourself" versus "I wonder what would happen.. I wonder if you could survive a jump, I wonder what it'd feel like to fall" etc. Makes me very tense as you could imagine. Didn't have this problem when I was a kid, I used to love heights... The same voice sometimes shows up when I'm talking to someone(usually an authority figure), wondering like... I wonder what happened if I punched this guy in the face right now.. or if I'm walking behind a cop, "I bet I could grab his gun before he could stop me". I think I need to see a doctor.
  14. what do i win? Nice work fetter =O
  15. You're full of lies and trickery! I should expect as much... but I now amend my previous post... It is a flying robot resembing an insect. Probably a fly, beetle, or bee/wasp. Then again that pretty much covers every flying insect. Aint I smart. If I had to choose, I'd say fly.
  16. Please I was first.
  17. I'd have to say its an automatic welding machine like in car assembly plants. Or maybe some kind of walking robot. Like a giant spider or ant. Self portrait?
  18. aaahahahah thats great! here make one outta this guy: or this dude: But seriously, the map is for CS:S. I'm workin on makin my own textures. Coming along alright. I'll post them here when I'm done. I don't want to steal too many from Dust of HL2(although I most likely will use some), just so they don't look the same.
  19. I'm lookin for some nice old mexican building textures... Mainly walls/doors/floor type stuff. Like the walls on this: or or For the ground: another wall: I wish this wasn't black and white... Whatever, you get the idea. If you know of anywhere to get textures like these already, that'd be great. Thanks!
