On a far more exciting note, my Crysis2 has been dispatched! sick! Bring on Friday ;-)

I must admit, I got LBP1 the other day cheap, as I thought id try it out before looking at getting LBP2 Glad I did as I can't see the attraction, found it quite boring and seemed to be very much aimed at 5-10year olds Even my mrs thought it was silly and I thought she'd like it. Just my opinion anyway ;-) obviously I'm talking about SP campaign, not got the time to play with the creation side of things, which may be where all the fun is at!

Thanks mate, it's my favourite too. I'll process some more and get up here in the week

Went on a car photography workshop over the weekend (a nice break away from 4 legged furry things) here's a few of my favourites (Best viewed on black and larger) (Best viewed on black and larger) (Best viewed on black and larger) Let me know what you think

Great work, perfectly simple and easy navigate 1 page website! Love it. My one and only suggestion would be to please reduce the size (width) of the Visual Prototype GRIN piece - as it's so damn wide it breaks the whole page and looks bit bleh with horizontal scroll bars etc, and that's in HD resolution too, it would be far worse for smaller resolutions!

Love the content, some great work throughout. It's a basic site that serves it purpose just fine, it's easy to read and fairly clean I just have 2 subtle ideas for improvement [*]The main one is just some alignment, the banner, the buttons, and then the content are all different widths - line them all up, or at least 2 of them centered so it all flows nicer [*]My only other suggestion would be to drop the font sizes down on almost everything, and try and use real text where possible instead of graphics. It's just general usability and should be nice and quick to do. I'm not in professional game development, just professional web development so take my opinions from that viewpoint - but personally id also like to see just a paragraph about you somewhere, even just on your resume - just to give it a little more 'personal' touch maybe. Hope it helps

HP's nailed it on the head with this one, just want to see more variety and areas covered I love the R34 btw, I want to skin it and take it for a spin! -
Great work Paul, I also loved Vorkuta - was very well done. Not sure if you actually wanted feedback on the website like most in this part of the forum, but my opinion largely reflects what Mazy has said - it's crazy busy, doesn't look like a portfolio at all, I thought I was reading a gaming news website or something. Once I eventually did find a portfolio piece I think due to the nature of the dark screenshots along with a very dark website, the small thumbnails aren't very inviting to see the full size versions. Just my thoughts anyway dude, once again some really great work :-)

I'm not liking the general usability of the website I'm afraid, but I must admit I absolutely love your photography man great work! If I get chance, and you want - ill list some things I believe would help a lot! It's a shame to sell yourself short when your work is very nice

Just my opinion but here's my thoughts, [*] The top hover over on about / contact is very unusual and not particularly understandable from a usability point of view. The whole graphic seems to move when you hover over it which I don't believe should happen. [*] I think you've used Javascript reveals in a unfriendly way - sure it's cool to see content scroll in/out of the page - but it really seems quite brash here. Maybe it's because I have no idea it's going to happen till I click it, or maybe it's because when the whole page get's shoved down it's quite an unnatural browsing experience! [*] Everything is very big an bulky, even on my 24" 1920x1080 resolution screen everything's massive which I think would look lots better if it was smaller. In 1024x768 you barely see anything but a title and half a picture - and also gives a horizontal scroll bar [*] I would change your main content font into more of a sans serif font like your headings to keep consistency, Arial would be just fine or Verdana if you don't like that. [*] Personally I would change your lowercase only headings to have capital first letters, like the headings for the levels - to keep it consistent. They also seem to be indented in more then the content/images which I believe would look better aligned correctly. [*] I'd also think about your line lengths - having full width lines like that isn't easy to read (for a few scientific biological reasons!) Hope it helps - content wise I think the images definitely show off some good talent ;-) Give us a yell if you need any assistance on any of the points I've just made.

I'd mostly agree with Frie, but as a web designer/developer full time rather then a games designer ill share my opinion of the website rather then the content I'll bulletpoint a few things I would improve/change, [*] Loose the green, it's far too harsh [*] Loose the red, same reason - it just doesn't work well on the grey with the green [*] To be honest, the blue and green together really doesn't work well together either, the 2 arrows next to your name almost blend into one [*] Work on your typography - some simple changes would make it far easier to read - for example headings need more definition and main content could do with some more line height [*] The lists nearer the bottom could do with some spacing out and general typography too - it's very bunched and hard to read [*] Navigation - stop it changing size on hover over, it's not nice same as your email address in your contact details nearer the bottom of the page - actually I think all anchor hover over colours could do with a quick makeover. [*] In 1024x768 you have horizontal scroll bars - id recommend making it slightly smaller so it fits as a baseline. I hope it helps! It's mainly just colouring and typography really nothing major! If you need any CSS help etc just post on here id be happy to help.

If you're going to remake a game, why not pick one where almost every interior looks the same

The weekends shoot went pretty poorly - although I did learn what _doesnt_ work, so I guess it's not all bad! I'll post more up soon.

Thanks guys, ill post some more up after the weekend practice shoot. Hadn't actually seen that EOT dog thread before, was a good read! haha

Hey guys, Not posted anything in years, and considering the mobile game development I'm working on is still far from release I thought id share some of my photography. Got an Dog trust event coming up which I've got an opportunity to take a lot of Pet portraits, only problem is I've never done one before! So here are some of my favourites from the test shoots I've been doing on the weekends. Got until the Summer to get a setup I'm happy with. Photographs are more or less always best viewed on black, opposite of the board theme! So do click on the links I've put below each image :-) (Best viewed on black and larger) (Best viewed on black and larger) (Best viewed on black and larger) Would love to know what you guys think and if anyone has got any experience / helpful ideas then please do share! Due to the nature of the event, they will be photographed on one of my backdrops only.
