  1. I play on the second hardest difficulty. Only played Witcher 2 for like 2 hours before that. It's a challenge but so far i've stayed ahead of the difficulty curve by just micro managing my gear and reading up on the monsters. Love how grim the game is. Found a little girl and her brothers whose parents have been killed. Gave them some money for food and the girl gave me her doll in return. Dem feels. Also wow @ how big the game is. 8 hours in and i've seen only a tiny part of the map, level 4 and already have a contract that recommends level 33.
  2. You can save the game anytime jackophant. New save from menu or F5 for quick save.
  3. Really liking this so far. Don't know if it's the appeal of the open world or the way how you get thrown in this grim story but it clicked with me right away. Something which wasn't the case with the first two games.
  4. Yea nothing to add there.
  5. The irony is how ethnocentric Polygon themself are by writing such a hogwash. For them only American history, culture and values exist (at least those they deem worthy within their own political mindset) and must be stamped on the whole rest of the world. They are completely oblivious to the fact that even 25 year after the fall of the iron curtain it's still a pretty big deal and not very common at all that a Polish developer can tell a Polish story to an international audience.
  6. Good scores. Looking forward to next week!

    Fallout 4

FO3 was ugly but was a really good game imo despite oldschool fanboys whining about it.
  8. So yea i think i'm gonna pass. Not feeling this at all. Looks like a big step back from Unity with regards to environment and atmosphere, which is the one thing that got me interested in the first place.

    Fallout 4

I enjoyed FO 3 more then NV, mostly because 3 had more and better dungeons.
  10. I don't know how the story compares. Was the first AC i played after AC1 and only watched my nephews play the other ones every christmas for a bit. Personaly i cared more for the environments and atmosphere then for the story. The free DLC was quite nice albeit a little short. I would say if you can get it at a discount and have a beefy PC to run it in all its glory then you get enough bang for the buck out of it. It's not a game that i would buy at day 1 full price for gameplay reasons only but its well worth it if you can get something out of studying the art.
  11. They actualy fixed AC:U. By the time i was playing it (january) it was almost bug free from my perspective. Had maybe two crashes and a dozen minor glitches in all the hours i played.
  12. I'm sort of looking forward to this. Not even a big fan of AC but AC:U was just such an inspiring game for me as an environment artist. I must have spent 40-50 hours in the game just looking at things.
  13. That's handy. Now everything can look like it's covered in a thin layer of wax.
  14. If i had 2b $ everyone could kiss my sweet ass.
  15. I'm glad that they stopped it for now. I wasn't happy with that implementation both as a content creator and as a gamer/consumer. At the same time i feel ambivalent, almost a bit sad that a potential source of income was run into the ground so quickly but i blame this more on Valve/Bethesda then the internet mob. I think the strong reaction has highlighted a much bigger issue and that is gamers being close to a breaking point with regards to feeling ripped off. Ther's just so much shit going on with smartphone apps, DLC's, microtransactions, failed kickstarters etc. This initiative was perhaps rightly so, seen as just another scheme to part people from ever more of their money for small slices of additional content and fun. It ended with this frustration being channelled into this loud outcry. I think the industry at large needs to get real about how its treats its customers. Big AAA producers in their DLC frenzy as much as the small guys that flood the market with useless crap. I sometimes wonder if a bubble is about to burst soon. And the scary thing about it is that we as the small artists and designers in this big machinery are the first who will suffer for it.
  16. Problem isn't Jack. The problem is Valve not giving a Shit about quality standards. This will just end up like mobile gaming and Greenlight. Mountains of shit with some (potentialy stolen) gems in it.
  17. Dean Hall's argument for the 25% cut actualy makes a lot of sense when i think about it. The games are a platform that is already succesful. The modders wouldn't sell shit without this platform. The thing is tho with this argumentation we don't talk about mods anymore. The modder is effectively a third party employee for Bethesda/Valve creating endless stream of DLC's. This is only acceptable to me if these studios then also take full responsibility of these products with regards to legality, QA, refunds. But even then for the players it's probably gonna be a raw deal with exception of subtantial quality mods/total conversions that actualy warrant their price tag and wouldn't be made otherwise.
  18. What i'm a bit afraid of is that it will suck the fun out of using mods for some games. Say the modders for Cities: Skylines start asking 10 cents for every little roundabout that would just go on my nerves.
  19. The 25% cut is bs. The dev studio shouldn't get almost double that for other people fixing/improving/keeping alive their game.
  20. This will be the end of modding as we know it. Everyone will try to sell their turds for moniez. But on the bright side this could well bring some high quality content from professionals who didn't bother with modding before.
  21. It's been a while since last i used Cryengine. Working with UE4 now for some time the only thing that i'm missing what CE had is decent road tools.

Do you have the 60Hz bug? I had some stutters when my monitor was set to 60 but only had 50 and 59 to choose from in the graphics settings. Setting the monitor to 59 fixed that for me. Same card as you btw.

    GTA V

I have a problem with missing 60hz option. Have to set my monitor to 59hz. That seems to have made the keyboard driving a bit better but it's still not very good. The game looks and runs pretty well tho with a bit of tweaking. The fov for driving in first person is way too low and there doesnt seem to be an option for that. Also wondered about the strange choice for some of the default key bindings. I hope they will fix the little things soon.

    GTA V

I didn't think the keyboard/mouse combo would feel that bad but it's really horrible. Just tested with X360 controller and it feels so much better, especially the driving.

    GTA V

Think i'm gonna play this with controller. The keyboard controls don't feel good while driving.
