  1. The difference is pretty significant imo.
  2. I'm planning on making a video series about shaming and exposing homosexuals and the things they like. It's gonna be a hit in the progressive and liberal circles of tumblr and the internet at large. Thing is i really CAN'T STAND IT that when one of the homosexuals checks out pictures of random muscular and sexy male bodies that he thinks of MY penis and doesn't appreciate me for the strong, smart and indipendent person that i am!
  3. Ah i remember a discussion i had about this film on mapcore because to me it's visualy stunning but someone else thought it looks like cheap TV movie. It's a bit of a shame you used the cropped version because the film is 4:3 in original and i like that version a lot more. I have the cropped bluray and hate it. If you wonder what makes the visuals so special other then Kubrick's famous framing then it's for sure the lighting. All light sources are in the frame. There arn't many movies who do this. If you watch it without color you will also notice that the frames are illuminated similar to an old black & white noir, which is accentuated in the 4:3 version.

    GTA V

There arn't many games where i would ever consider to buy for multiple platforms or even replay the game but GTA 5 is one of them. So not sure what the point of a broader discussion is because to me it's just an curiosity. Also i sold my PS3 copy and PC copy hopefully isn't as expensive as console version so in the end i will have paid 60 altogether for both version. The game is easily worth that.

    GTA V

It's gonna be awesome on PC. While PS3 version was fun the framerate and fov did bother me.
  6. I have never been so not hyped for WC. I think it's all turning into shit thanks to FIFA gangsters. And i don't have much hopes for the German team aswell.
  7. Eurotruck Simulator: Siberia Edition
  8. How i hate such drums and the douchebags who play them. One of the few things that totally kill my zen. Ther's this annoying "samba"-band in my town who plays under my window all day long everytime when there is an event, which feels like at least once a month. No surprise a while ago they were assaulted by someone who lost his mind over this torture.
  9. Why do people make hot rods of 1930's cars when they could just tune a contemporary car?

    Destiny

Yep not feeling it. Ther's nothing in the footage that screams "500 people worked on this!" or which hints at this actualy revolutionizing the fps genre in any way.

    Far Cry 4

I have played Farcry 3 for a bit (~10 hrs). Wasn't a bad game by any means but i would agree with Vilham about repetitiveness. I'm usually a big fan of open world games but there was something missing there to keep my interest up. Maybe it was the structure with the towers. So i got 3-4 of them and then i know alraedy i will do the same thing over and over before i finish the game. It didn't feel as rewarding/enjoyable as exploring does in a Bethesda or Rockstar game. If you can improve on that in FC4 then it will be on my radar for sure.
  12. So if i'm a huge fanboy of the game and want to enjoy everything it has to offer i need to buy 3 copies? That sounds reasonable.
  13. 90's revival is what i fear most. It's like what 70's revival must have felt like for people in the 90's.
  14. Granted New Star Soccer is a very bad example by the author. To me it represents everything that is wrong with mobile gaming. I used to play it on PC years ago. Paid once, then had a blast with it. On mobile on the other hand it is barely functional without in app purchases. There is no option to buy a fully functional full version. But what you can pay for are things that temporarely boost your character at prices that are in no sane relation to what you pay for. The whole payment model is designed in a way that if you would play it for as long as you would play the PC version you would pay x times more in the end. To me that's a scam and that's what wrong with a shitload of fp2 games on mobile. Either that or they bombard you with annoying ads just in case it's the next flappy bird so the dev will get rich.
  15. My biggest fear is this spills over to PC gaming. Steam with lowering the entry bar and almost non existing quality control of what is sold is a step in that wrong direction already. A nightmare would be if a simple and cheap to make VR game becomes a huge hit.
  16. Read this article yesterday. It's excellent. The mobile gaming scene is fubar. Imo needs a complete restart/rethink. F2P needs to be eradicated with actualy free games so every mobile user gets a taste of proper gaming with no ads and scam bullshit. Maybe then there will be a market for higher quality paid games. But who's gonna volunteer to fix this? Everybody seems to be into it for completely greedy reasons.

    Destiny

I'm with the doubters. This has potential to be this generation's biggest flop. You just can't predict what people like. With a budget like this it will be a flop even if it's a success by any sane standards. It has to be a mega success on the GTA, CoD, Mario level. How you gonna force this with a new IP? And one that albeit well executed looks rather generic i might add.
  18. Fuzyhead i see on your models a lot of these issues what looks like smoothing errors: Having a closer look at your maps this seems to be caused by two things: It looks like you bake your normal maps without padding. Padding is there to avoid such cases so i recommend in the future you bake with padding. The other thing that makes it even more noticable is that your diffuse is just on a black background (what looks like with no padding either). So instead of black background just use a color that blends well with most of the texture. This way you will get less of these darkened edges.
  19. If you're on a dual screen setup make sure your wacom is set to paint only on one screen. Also go in your wacom properties and check that the proportions of your projection are correct. Ther's several things you can do for better and more confident looking strokes. Most important is practice. Just draw every day parallel lines, elipses, crosshatchings for 15-20 minutes on an empty canvas. What many artists who want perfect strokes do is to paint a stroke on a new layer then warp it in position. For photoshop there is a plugin called Lazy Nezumi that adds some sort of lag to your strokes so you can draw them slowly with no waves. You should also start and draw some gestures every day. That should improve your speed and stroke confidence a lot:
  20. Do you draw with a mouse? What is your approach? Trying to figure out why you're so slow. Maybe can point you in a direction to improve your speed.
  21. Dux have you tried group therapy? That helped me ten times more then any of the talking sessions with psychologists. I remember one guy in my group who couldn't leave his house by himself. An ambulance had to pick him up every morning. He got so depressed because of his job in a old-age home. Total nerve wreck. But even he was much better after a couple months.
  22. Nah i can relate to you a lot. I have a history of depression and anxiety myself. Ten years ago i spent a lot of time doing therapies, trying medications etc. While i don't feel depressed or suicidal and have improved my life a lot over the years i still have some issues that i carry around. Mostly i'm very introverted. It's not that i don't enjoy social interactions but it often feels like it's draining every last bit of energy out of me. I can deal with it to some degree (actualy managed to live abroad, work in a studio etc) but too much of it and i get depressed and get panic attacks. Hence being a freelancer doesn't bother me either.
  23. Maybe time to see a doc about it? Both depression and bipolar disorder are treatable.
