Netherlands is long overdue for a world cup. All rivalry aside you deserve it. I root for Netherlands when Germany doesn't play. Probaly no consolation to you but in a way Germany's win is also in part due to Netherlands. When Germany was at the bottom after Euro 2000/2004 they looked to the Netherlands model to improve youth football. If Brazil is smart they will do the same. When a small country can stay relevant in football for decades then so can a big football nation when only they put their focus where it's important.

It's not really comparable to Skyrim gameplay wise. In DA you have a party instead of just one char. Don't judge gameplay by the video tho. They play the "action" game style in the PR videos which is silly button mashing like Diablo. Imo the proper way to play and enjoy this is the tactical style tho which is a lot of fun. In this style you pause the combat every 1-2 seconds and micro manage the attacks and spells of your party. Doersn't get more proper RPG then that. Also in Baldurs Gate and DA:O the story was really really good with lots of twists and whatnot. Think of the Assasins Guild plot in Oblivion to get the idea. If Da 3 can replicate that it's gonna kick ass.

World champion in Maracana. Brazil beaten 7:1. It will never get better. That realisation that from now on its all downhill (football fan wise). I don't expect Germany to get ever get world champ again in my lifetime. But tonight i don't care.

Did you ever play Baldurs Gate? Because DA:O basically was a Baldurs Gate game.

It looks epic story/art wise. But yea i hope tactical can be played like in DA:O. That action combat looks so wrong to me. Not feeling the characters either. I want awesome female characters like Morrigan instead of that horned abomination (thanks Anita!). UI also looks bad, almost like placeholder.

For who tho? Could be fun. One team freezing of fear and another team with no motivation. Either will be 0:0 or 5:5.

I've been using ddo a bit in the new quixel suite. It's quite useful with the megascans, smart materials and masks to texture stuff _fast_. Together with the ability to use your own custom materials for the megascans workflow i can see myself using this a lot for our next project. What i'm not so happy about is ndo. It runs like crap for me. Like, move some stuff around in unzipped layer at what feels like 3-4 fps. It's impossible to work like that so i'll just use it for simple stuff like i did all the last couple years.

Still feels surreal to be in the finals. This is way different then 2002 or 2008. I get 1990, 1996 vibes. I'm almost afraid to be optimistic because i don't want it to break my heart.

I watched in the pub and the atmosphere was actualy very strange. The celebration after goals was very reserved because everybody was like "is this really happening???". I thought every goal was offside because i went watching the game with the mindset that Fifa has written the plot already long ago in favor of Brazil.

Does the US have talented young players come through? I have no doubt that the US will be succesfull in football eventualy but it will probably take a bit longer. The success of the German team over recent tournaments and this one is the culmination of changes that have been made to domestic youth football and training after the Euro 2000 desaster. That's 14 years of work. Of course some of our talents (like Schweinsteiger) popped up way earlier but only now they are old enough and have the experience to win big titles like the Champions League and so the football god willst it the world cup.

Nice gun but 4k sounds excessive. Pretty sure you could do kickass skin with half that resolution. 5.7k tris on the other hand sounds average/slightly low. Could have spent more polies on the details which are right in the players face like the screw and that corrugated thingy. instead of making it completely normal map. With weapons it's common mistake of artist to spread details evenly so it looks good on portfolio when for actual games (and people judging your portfolio) it's important to focus the detail on the things which are closest to the first person camera (polies aswell as texture density).

Sorry Minos That was fucking mental tho. Stuff of legends! Now lets hope they bring it home on sunday or after all this adrenaline rush i will know aswell how the Brazil tears feel. Ambivalent about the other semi tomorrow. Kinda cheering for Netherlands but i think Argentina we would have slightly better chances on sunday.

Brazil still is full of players who play at top clubs and you have the home advantage. Sure the injury of Nemar is a big blow but so was the injury of Reus for Germany even before the tournament began and now we have to carry Ghostzil through every match. I expect the game to be pretty even. Could go down to penalties.

Congrats to dutchies! That's two kickass semi finals on paper. Tho no team has completely convinced. Chances are 25:25:25:25 imo.

Gonna be difficult semi final against Brazil.

We're not talking about mainstream in that it appeals to demographics age 0 - 100. For the mentioned age and gender group (14yo boys), getting knee-deep into gaming is totally okay, a lot of people are into it in that demographic and they "control" that subculture. Young girls are not represented and it's a bit of a threshold to enter that subculture for them. That's the hurdle and you can't ignore that any way you look at it. Predominantly, you have same-sex friends and if you are girl, the odds are that you won't have many friends who are into gaming, reducing your incentives to enter the space. You don't remove a hurdle by putting a wall instead is my opinion. My approach to equality is to give everyone the same opportunities, rights and duties unlike the sort of SJW's who are more into prohibition, regulation and faux solutions. Attitudes towards female gamers are not gonna change by putting them away safely in a box. It's hard for them sure. But they are pioneers, same like the first blacks who went to formerly white schools.
