  1. looks cool, i dig it. smoothing issues in the first one, and don't use the roof tiles tex on the underside of the roof ;) throw on a wooden plank tex or something. i believe the wooden siding you're using on the second one is meant to be a door tex ;)

  2. i can see where you're coming from and i understand but dude it sounds like you're kidding yourself...

this unique alien world of rusty metal, red flags, barren rocks and flashing red screens populated with creatures made from dead humans and other species, the sky was a dark brooding red informing the player that this place is anything but friendly and you're going to get fucked-up pretty bad unless you keep your alert on at all times.

this passage reads a lot like you're describing doom3 ;X

i don't blame them for porting d3 shit to q4 but i don't expect it to be any good. if they pull off a solid MP game i'll be duly impressed. d3 is a steaming heap (albeit bump & spec'd) D:

  3. keen, yeah. i think it's laid out poorly though, you've got a lot of wasted space (GET IT, HAW HAW ...meh)

i also think you need a bit more distance and less size on those dropshadows. you've got a shadow seam on the left, too.

if you want to have that much empty space in the background you really need to do something with it. instead the first thing i'd do is just take that plug thing on the PDA, shrink it and put it on top (reroute the wires), so you can trim that whole left side of the page.

if you want to go with that kind of techno theme you really need a lot more of it imo.

  4. Nexus!

    I havent bought HL2 yet :( i want to get a box~

    don't buy a box.

    If i purchase a boxed HL2..

can i later register that to my steam name, then upgrade that 'package' to a silver package or something? or is it only for ati voucher holders..

No. You cannot "upgrade" HL2 packages. Somethings to know:

    Retail:

-You are ALWAYS required to have the CD or DVD in your disk drive. This is a requirement Vivendi made VALVe implement.

-VALVe, also as a requirement from Vivendi, is banning accounts detected with "no-cd" cracks.

-The disks are protected with SecuROM V5, which not all drives are capable of reading.

-The games work in "offline" mode indefinately. This means with retail, you don't have to connect to STEAM to play.

-It can NOT be converted to a "steam purchased" cd key. (Vivendi, again)

    Steam:

-You never have to have a CD in the drive.

-You can burn backups easily using STEAM's built in backup system

-You get a lot more for your money. (Back catalog, DoD:S, HL1:S, etc)

Buy the silver package. Its the best thing to do.

well, that's what i hear at least 58_100_117_110_110_111_58.gif

    gogo hearsay

  5. highly doubt this happening....so what if someone connects from a college network? they're going to block the entire campus from playing hl2...doubtful

ip banning is stupid and doesn't work. we have that problem with forumplanet.

what valve will do is ban the account which means the email address and any associated cd keys.

  6. it's an artificial character twice over... a robot inside a computer game---yet it's been imbued with such sincere animation and behavior that i felt genuine affection for the thing. i dunno but that means something to me. :)
