  1. Most important question: is there gonna be a planning stage like in Rainbow Six 1-3?

If not, Rainbow Six Vegas is dead to me now. Without the planning aspect it would be like SWAT4 or GRAW set in Las Vagas, nothing special. Planning is what Rainbow Six is all about!

I used to spend hours making out the perfect plan and when at the end of the mission everything went right, all objectives were achieved and no team member was killed I felt a very proud moment, leaned back on my chair and said to myself like Hannibal Smith from A-Team: I love it when a plan comes together.

Those were the unique Rainbow Six moments, please don't take them away :)

  2. the price is amazing. the wii doesn't actually have to compete against ps3 or xbox 360 because it's really cheap and I'm sure many people will be actually able to afford a wii next to one of the pricy next gen consoles.

plus nintendo is gonna attract a whole bunch of new customers, ppl who never played games before.

ah by the way, I know it's a bit out of context, but is anybody else pissed that the PC version of Alan Wake is exclusively for windows vista?

  3. for god's sake it's just boobies.

how the hell can a child be harmed by seeing a woman's breast? u see them in europe all the time. in tv, in commercials, on beaches and nobody's making a big deal out of it.

    america grow up

  4. Draw distance is like 2meters, cool! This doesnt even has a great graphics so what makes this game good in middle of next-gen games?

"L0L R0fL tHoSe gRapHicS sUcK"

Ever heard of "gameplay" you cs kiddy? Spore is one of the most interesting game projects of all times. Will Wright is really striking a new path with that game.

  5. always remember before you apply the NV filter that bright parts of the texture will "stick out" and dark parts will "stick in".

    Tutorial_05.jpg

take a look at your grayscale texture and you can clearly see that the bricks should be the other way round (bright bricks, dark gaps)

/edit warby was faster than me :)

  6. I recently got my ICO Special Edition from eBay. I paid almost £50 for that thing, just because it's in mint condition (how nerdy must that sound...)

Other games I played in the past weeks:

    - Splinter Cell 4 (awesome game. Luka are you credited?)

    - Mario 64 on a emulator (current status: 56 stars - I had all of them about 8 years ago)

  7. Is it true that salaries at Ubi are lower compared to similar companies?

I mean, I don't want to hear any digits from klein or IR, just the overall impression.

Anyway I always wondered where the better working conditions + salary are. Big publisher in-house teams, or small but high-profile, independent teams?

That non-compete clause definitely sucks ass. Of course Ubi used it only in obviously hostile cases so far, but I guess I would still feel a bit uncomfortable as an employee.

  8. easy ferret, let's just say curman shares the photos he paid for, with his friends.

no seriously, you're kinda right. environment-textures.com is a great site and should be rewarded for their efforts. I'm definetely gonna sign up for the service later, because the amout of photos seems to be increasing constantly and it's surely a good thing signing up every year or so, to keep the collection up to date.

And for those who feel uncomfortable using curmans offer, here's a list of sites that provide a similar service, but for free:

    http://www.imageafter.com

    http://www.morguefile.com

    http://www.sxc.hu

    http://www.flickr.com

    http://www.webshots.com

By the way, here's another Firefox plugin that lets you automatically save all picture of all open tabs: http://magpie.lockfile.org/

(I guess all these plugins were built to make porn gallery downloading easier... :D)

  9. Thanks a lot curman! :)

I noticed that the photos open in a popup window and when you click on another picture it opens up in the same window. So here's a little trick how to make downloading pictures more comfortable:

First you need this Firefox extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/m ... on=firefox

Now you can access some advanced preferences for tabbed browsing. There you just need to set that all javascript popups should be opened in the current window.

All the pictures will now open in a new tab instead of a popup. This makes it way more convenient to steal them all :D

  10. i think you meant hessi, i already have a job.
