  1. I saw a live game play demo at quakecon this year; looked really fun. The game play was like a cross between Enemy Territory and Mirror's Edge. Visually, the game looks really good; the detail of the environments, the atmosphere, a very small hint of cartoonish style. It all mixed together very well. It doesn't even look like id tech 4. My only complaint was that there seemed to be no massive difference between the characters. They all pretty much looked the same, sans body size and clothing/tattoos/etc. And I'm not a big fan of the "Every character looks like Kratos from God of War" theme the
  2. Just got back from the Rage Live Gameplay Demo. It was quite awesome. Rage looks like everything I wanted Fallout 3 to be.
  3. No no. Come on now guys. He's right. Part of being responsible adults is knowing when to admit we're wrong. We're obviously not professional enough here at the core, as illustrated by this thread.
  4. That would be Max Payne, i believe.
  5. here's hoping this'll be the game I wanted Fallout 3 to be.
  6. Naw, afaik they hinted that he died somewhere between the games. They mentioned that Shepard can die in ME2. When they said that, they also mentioned that if Shepard died, you'd have to play ME3 with a different Shepard, and not your Shepard, because he's dead, seeing as how ME is a story about Shepard and you always play as Shepard. After hearing that, I just figured that if Shepard is going to die in ME2, it's going to be at the end. Where else could he die and have it still make sense?
  7. Yeah, me too. I keep losing track of those baby seals in the dark. ...oh wait... I think we're talking about two different things...
  8. That's not a spoiler. They've been saying since E3 that that is one of the endings.
  9. dude, it looks excellent without the textures! (heck, I think the orange dev texture even fits the ME style, in some areas ). I can't wait to see it fully textured!
  10. six months, eh? Goody. Should be just enough time to pad out the ol' programming portfolio to something halfway decent and fire off a resume.
  11. That made me want to watch West Side Story.
  12. Agreed. I mean I'm not denying his massive cultural effect. To me he was an amazing dancer, but I really did not care for his music. Loads of people are telling me "just listen to [song X]. It's his best and it's amazing!", I go and listen to [song X], and all I can think is "meh".
  13. You're the Birthday, you're the Birthday, you're the Birthday boy or girl.
  14. I didn't say there weren't any. I said there weren't enough.
  15. How about a miniseries/movie/game that shows things from the German side of things? There's a side we never see or hear about in mass media. I mean sure, we won, they lost, we're great, blah blah blah, but I don't think every single German soldier was a cold blooded evil maniac, and I've certainly had enough of "The War, As Told By The Winning Side". Sure, we've got a few short segments in BoB, Der Untergang, and Letters From Iwo Jima but that's about it. Although I can't imagine the general public being comfortable with a Call of Duty game where you play the single player story as a German

Same, but just once, I'd like to see an apocalyptic movie where everybody actually dies... where mankind is extinct by the time the credits roll.
  17. QFT. I'm all for the benefit of the doubt, but this is not Max Payne. Max on Fire?
  18. Damn fine work! Absolutely astonishing! Downloading now.
  19. What corwin, defrag, and klein said. Do you only buy PC exclusive games? If the PC version is great, who the hell cares if it came out on consoles or was developed with a console in mind before the PC? Some games play better on consoles, some play better on PC. Which is which is totally subjective (see FPS keyboard/mouse vs. controller argument that's been going on since the dawn of time). All that matters is whether or not the game is good. L4D plays great on PC. (to me) The above argument holds about as much water as a spaghetti strainer. I was initially angry because I felt that L4D2 wou
  20. In light of The Last Guardian being announced, and the fact that Shadow of the Colossus was amazing, I found a used copy of this on ebay: I've heard it's quite amazing.
  21. I initially had a problem with the L4D sequel so soon for all of the reasons stated above, but who am I kidding, I'll probably have it on pre-order as soon as it's on steam. Given Valve's track record, I'm still giving them the benefit of the doubt. Now that I think about it, I didn't like steam when it first came out, and now I prefer buying games on steam; I was disappointed when they canceled Black Box and did Orange Box only, but now I don't care anymore because Portal and EP2 made the price well worth it several times over; and now I'm upset about L4D2 so soon after L4D, and valve wil
  22. Ah yeah... forgot about the whole currency conversion factor Funny though, that samsung was the monitor I was going to buy instead of the dell, but I got the dell instead because it had a better warranty/return policy on stuck/dead pixels.
