My simulation of Debate Numero Uno
The Postman replied to The Postman's topic in Political Discussion
Wasn't poking at the Republicans, I was poking at Cheney, former president of said company. Such a huge contract and it's no bid and the VP of the US used to run the company that gets it - and gets a $1,000,000 bonus later on from said company? No, I don't see anything wrong there at all. Not to mention all the financial and fraudulent errors that company has made that strangely keep getting shot out of the spot light post haste. -

I'm just curious to see how Halliburton is brought up by Edwards and sensibly explained by Cheney, since I don't think that can happen - the sensible explanation that is. -

Cheney/Edwards is gonna be like Bush/Kerry debate, only reversed in the whole "deer in headlights" position. -
and...go: *bickering for the entire time about things that have happened and we can't change with vague notions of a future plan on both parties sides, exchanges of barbs, quizzical looks from Bush, Kerry's ghastly grin and in the end we're all dumber for having watched it* I'm just thankful I didn't take a shot any time Kerry mentioned 'Nam or Bush mentioned terror/terrorists. I'd be dead of alcohol poisoning.

Some statics to sit on and some RTS buildings to look at
The Postman replied to Acumen's topic in Level Design
nifty stuff, but the wood and plaster look "fuzzy," not as distinct as they could be. However I like the thatch on the roof -
Either or is easy enough to a quality artist *pets my own ego* isn't that right precious, yes it is! ho ho ho :megamon:

Great detail, good skins, love the models. Cheers, you're gonna be the next Desert Combat/CS, get ready for that heh.

because it's an hl mod that isn't CS

heh, alright I stand corrected, but Klein is correct, it's very filterish. Also maybe rope in and define your shadowing around the planks a little more and do a little more work on the thatch on the roof, it's photosource and painfully so. Also for the plaster i'd go without adding that bumpy stuff you added at the end. It looks fine a little flat. -

I call bullshit on the "did not use filters" claim. I've seen your work, you use filters like a lecher uses whores. In any case, it's not "fucked up" it just exists in its world. IE: It doesn't look like this clean, instantly made building existing in a void. People have lived in it for years upon years and it has been maintained, used and lived in. -

256s are quick and easy. I'm not doing huge goddamned art pieces for shits and giggles Feel free to make 512s though. 256x256 is just the minimum i guess. -
I've been thinking about the HL re-make thread and its great response and was thinking about having some kind of monthly contest for best texture in a given challenging field! The contest will specify dimensions, texture theme and so forth. I have some ideas already thrown up here, but I'm very open to some new ideas. So post away! Your input counts! Dimensions: 256x256 Themes: Overgrown city (think vines wrapping decayed building structures Deathmatch metal (create a texture, or small set for a deathmatch setting using only metal) Intricate machinery (overly intricate machinery set into a wall)

Looks very hand-drawn and also looks like you used a lot of filters (that's a no-no) on your textures Splitta. Also you should keep in mind lighting as well as how the object has been used, disused and abused over the years by nature and the hand of man. Good start, but I think you have room to fix a lot of things -
I have an idea. Don't post anything until your mod has something to show for it other than a UBB forum and a shitty logo. This is a good idea.

Well that brushed metal tutorial sucks. Go here: http://www.mayang.com/textures/index.htm and get yourself some texture source. PS: Keep .wad and HL2 discussion to the Engine Discussion forum please.
