It's a Light Armor Vehicle. Used as an anti-personnel vehicle. More info here:

It's in German, so I'm linking Babel fish for you as well! Huzzah!

I was refering to posty
Easier to get in without any means of identification? Seems pretty clear to me.

Even I disagree with this. Our immigration policies exist for a reason. Doesn't this weaken the war on terror too?
-
Were these people spitting on them? If you watched the video they were only shouting that they wanted the troops home, which is a pretty nice thing to want for the troops, isn't it? I see it as intimidation more than anything. They don't need to be firing ammunition to make a presence or show hostility.

someone has been visiting DU

oh and btw.. tanks have tracks.. not wheels... just fyi
An enclosed, heavily armored combat vehicle that is armed with cannon and machine guns and moves on continuous tracks.Light Armored Vehicles at a peace rally. Whatever you say it's pretty fucked up. For your information I didn't visit DU, but thanks for contributing.

LOS ANGELES, November 9, 2004 - At 7:50 PM two armored tanks showed up at an anti-war protest in front of the federal building in Westwood. The tanks circled the block twice, the second time parking themselves in the street and directly in front of the area where most of the protesters were gathered. Enraged, some of the people attempted to block the tanks, but police quickly cleared the street. The people continued to protest the presence of the tanks, but about ten minutes the tanks drove off. It is unclear as to why the tanks were deployed to this location.http://www.la.indymedia.org/news/2004/11/118865.php
Oh boy! Anyone got a secondary source for this? Why didn't I hear about this on the 9th? It seems pretty extreme for just a peace rally.

- fix the hair (i have no idea how to do alpha mapping)

Save the texture as a 32-bit .tga file, and there ya go, it's alpha will work (alpha shown as checkered part of the texture, default transparency in Photoshop).

Not too shabby at all. Good work!

Duffy: read the rules of the forums. I went over them with Mikey, and they apply to all of us, including the moderators.

Each week we'll do a subject and banter back and forth through the days so that you the viewer can make your decisions! The topic is locked so that only Urban and I may post within this thread, however, feel free to PM either of us, or post in other threads of your own creation.
This week's topic is a big one. Bush has recently decided to once again tackle the gay marriage ban amendment that was unanimously voted into effect in 11 states the night of the election. Personally I'm indifferent to gay marriage, because it doesn't effect my life what-so-ever. I'm not gay and I'm not from any extremist religion, so again, no effect.
However I believe that any consenting adults should be able to enjoy the fruits of matrimony if they so choose. Many from the Religious Right will pose the statement that in Leviticus there are mentionings of damnations for those that choose to sleep with the same sex. It also damns cutting one's hair, and if you're wearing clothing of various blends you're also going to spend eternity in a lake of fire. Take your pick on your way to eternal damnation. But what real effect would this have on Christian marriage at all? Due to seperation of church and state: none. Because marriages can be performed at a courthouse (or drivethru chapel in Vegas - how's that form sanctified).
Another argument is that gay marriage would damage the family unit and that marriage should be reserved for those with the goals of raising children. So, ban all infertile couples immediately. Ridiculous statement, and the thinnest of the veils over the plain bigotry.
Moreso, some people argue that gay marriage would damage their own marriage. If someone else's marriage (gay or straight) is effecting your marriage by just existing, your marriage doesn't sound very strong at all. Case closed.
Urban, what's your opinion on this hotly debated issue?

Hi there, time for some rules in Political Discussion. I will try to enforce these to the best of my ability with no partisan bias. However I'll state right now that I'm a left-leaning centrist. PM me if you want to know my stances on various political issues. Anyhow, on with the show:
1. Don't flame. Even if you feel like cussing the other person out, keep it in PMs or in EOT. Flame posts will be discussed by the moderators, and are subject to deletion.
2. If you disagree, post something that rebutts the original post. Better yet, grab some legit online sources and post a small blurb from them using the Quote command.
3. If you don't have anything to add to the conversation, just flip past and don't click the reply button, simple huh?
4. Try to keep it civil. This relates to rule #1, but I can't help but repeat this. Calling someone a "fag" or just cussing them out because you disagree will get your posts deleted post-haste. Very simply, try to be polite, even if you disagree.

i can hear liberal fags
Hey look, we got ourselves a compassionate conservative here! Hahaha, oh Duffy.
Seriously, Ashcroft was the most constricting, conservative, conservative Christian influenced, paranoid control freak we've had since perhaps McCarthy. Not to mention he holds incredibly outdated and ignorant beliefs that effect his judgement and opinion.
...but...he's gone now! A true victory for all who truly love American freedom and the joy it allows.
McCarthy was a heroI'm gonna arrest you for being a communist and ruin your life.
PS: let's nuke Korea and China.

...or "How America Becomes a Christian Fundamentalist Nation."
http://www.yuricareport.com/Dominionism ... onAct.html
Read up, but here's the meat of it:
`Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, the Supreme Court shall not have jurisdiction to review, by appeal, writ of certiorari, or otherwise, any matter to the extent that relief is sought against an element of Federal, State, or local government, or against an officer of Federal, State, or local government (whether or not acting in official personal capacity), by reason of that element's or officer's acknowledgement of God as the sovereign source of law, liberty, or government.'.So what does that mean to you, the citizen? Well it means that it's a-ok for an elected official to use "God's will" as a reason for a decision or ruling. That's all fine and dandy if, per se', you believe in God, or if you're not an agnostic or of another faith. But we are not a Christian nation. We may have lots of Christians within us, but much like we have no true official language, we do not have "an official faith." This would pretty much change that.
This is another misnomer, almost comparable to the "Patriot Act" for misleading the nation. Average Joe American goes "Oh, they want to restore the Constitution? Well I'm all for that!" and passes it off as just another Act. Much in the way that those same Average Joes don't seem to see how misused the Patriot Act has been, and will more than likely, be used. It's patriotism baby, don't question it! Don't be so un-American!
Well, rebellion, questioning the ruling class, and going against the wishes of a tyrannical, religiously influenced government was what our forefathers and framers of the Constitution were all about. It's time to take stock in how much we give away, before it's truly gone.
