  1. its getting better and better! keep at it! I especially like the flying cars idea, hope it looks good ingame. Tho I am not sure if i like the overall look of the map, i tend to like more the "Immortel ad vitam" and "the fifth element" style of futuristic city when i think of flying cars. This is a bit too "combine" for me, but it looks like you have the overall theme nailed down all over the map, so thats a good thing. looking forward to see more, preferably in higher quality pictures as others have suggested.
  2. still very w.i.p. Have been experimenting with reactor (3dsmax physics-thingy) and a mace, you know the type where you have a grip - metalchain - big spiky round thing that hurts, however it seems to be harder than i had foreseen. Anyways, just a "beaty-render", have unwrapped it and its ready to be textured. What you see is just temp textures. Trying to just finish the final modelling and ill do some more gear before i start with the textures as i suck with photoshop. Ive also added some hair as you can see, but as of now its rather basic, havent made it "flow" like it should. suggestions for improvement would be sweet. --- sweet stuff you got nooba, whats it for? looks like some kind of rpg game or something, deep in the lost halls of the dwarfs or something
  3. looking good! i agree with generalvivi`s suggestion.
  4. cool stuff =)
  5. as promised, the wire: http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wirechaos5jj.jpg will post progress at the end of the day. Thanks alot for the kind words ferret! will do next render with better light setting.
  6. got a bit inspired by some warhammer figures, beasts of chaos to be more accurate. Its supposed to be those who sort of looks like goat-men or something. All very WIP at the moment, and sorry for the render if its too dark, had to render it pretty fast as i had to catch a train. Will perhaps show a wire tomorrow if its desired. And btw, the leather-strap thingy i intended to have various armor pieces on looks like shit, i know will fix it asap... oh well, here we go: http://img22.imageshack.us/full.php?image=chaosbeast0ee.jpg edit: (if you think his head looks like shit its because he is wearing some sort of cloth-thingy over his head, will do a closeup render tomorrow perhaps)
  7. Awesome! Congratulations =)
  8. make sure players dont get stuck in the walls! =)
  9. Thanks for all the nice replys! http://img482.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bongardnicolaiosloblig1int05re.jpg this is the final render. Only added depth of field effect to it. Didnt want it to be "overcrowded" with objects. Now i just wait to see what the teacher thinks...
  10. Its noroff. However, the "realistic" part, is not you know realistic as in "could have been something we could see today". We were free to choose whatever time period or world we wanted, just the final image should look realistic as. Uhm... dunno if that made much sense =) So far the teacher has been very exited about my project, so im glad you are not the teacher thanks for replys tho, keep`em coming, and preferrably with suggestions for improvements!
  11. Hey! I first opened 3d studio max sometime in august this year, and allready i have to finish my first scene for evaluation. The deadline is this thursday, so i don`t really have much time left (entering panic mode) Anyhow, the task is to make a realistic interior scene, and as all the other people in my class went for these IKEA looking pictures, i chose this one http://www.fengzhudesign.com/misc/misc_feng_image09.JPG by Feng Zhu ( a really kickass photoshop dude: http://www.artbyfeng.com) this is what i got so far: http://img468.imageshack.us/my.php?image=snartferdig7qx.jpg I have worked on this scene for a bit more than 2 weeks now. It is not to be an exact copy, and as you can see i have added some other stuff to the scene. I am pretty happy with the result, but if you guys have anything you think i should add and/or constructive critisism, please reply! Thanks in advance!
  12. would perhaps be nice with that much shiny-ness if it was a map with rain?
  13. i think the water texture might look rather nice when its moving/animated/inserted properly into the game, even though it has those geometric shapes.
  14. Looks good except for the hands... too bad you dont have the time to fix. Looking forward to see more!
  15. ts_subway or something. if i remember correct, its satan`s map or something? at least someone who works/worked on nightwatch. bah, too late in the evening for normal functioning brain.
  16. i dont know if you are allowed to use cs: source models, but if you can, there`s a model of sky used in office, i dont know if you could have used that.
  17. looks rather neat, should scale down a lot of the textures though, this is after all HL2. good job.
  18. slightly paranoid? if this was a hl map, i would say "poor brushwork" ... Now i dont know how mapping in doom3 engine works, so i cant say that in case you dont use brushes... Anyhow, you should make more details/interesting architecture. And do not belive that everyone is "after you".
  19. looks like a quake3:arena map, only with better lightning.

    perhaps some new screens soon?
  22. could you please give me the "adresse" of the steam cache? the filename? i dont want to delete something wrong, hehe. Ive tried to delete the SDK folder and a cfg file i think before, but that did not work.
  23. didnt work for me =(

well, its rather limited how jolly a construction site looks... i think it would be nice with the lights (looking forward to those screens), and perhaps add more surrounding stuff, like other buildings and whatnot?
  25. ive done that. nothing seems to work, i even uninstalled the hl2 dm, as some threads suggested that...
