Incredible! =D More photos! keep them coming!

try to outline wrinkles and stuff, not just go all amok with that fish-like scale thingy you got going on over his eyes. Make sure you can see where skin would normally curl up and make a wrinkle/fold. Define muscles better. His ear looks pretty abnormal, try to make a normal human ear, then make it pointy. it is too high up too i think. Try making the cheeck stand out more when viewed from the side. And btw, if people do not comment on your thread, its most likely because what you are showing is rather ok. Not too bad, and not too good. If it was totally horrible, i think people here would let you know! Anyways, there is no reason you cannot be on both mapcore and cgtalk. The more comments you can get, that better.

Meotwister: make a room where the guitar is hanging on the wall or something, that would be cool.
-
cool stuff, allthough the screen should perhaps have been black?
-
the next time you take pictures of yourself, try to draw with a pen (or something that comes off a bit more easily with water) some points/lines on your face, will make modelling go much more smooth

incredibly cool stuff warby! thumbs up! =D Thats what the striders in hl2 should have looked like

update for today, small one. http://img117.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dagens69us.jpg

sounds neat and efficient to me! Now keep it up! looking good as allways!
-
looks sweet! I especially like the colors... Either they are relaxing to look at or im just weird =D on second thought perhaps both!
-
thanks! ill try to get the face the way i want it, then try some "real" anatomy and hopefully get him to pose in a cool way. fetter: i wish i knew zbrush Guess i need to start learning sometime.

http://img103.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dagens45mx.jpg very wip. cc would be nice tho.

gotta love vray The wires looks good too, really tidy, keep it up!

for the goblin comments: i agree that they looks like goblins should look, but in lotr they are called orcs, and then you have the uruk-hai or whatever they are called who are a tad more badass. Ferret: i meshsmooth because im no fan of squarish outlines (thats what they are called? sortof like the silhouette around the figure.) I take the meshsmooth into consideration when i model, so i tend to blow up the proportions of for example the cheekbones a bit, cause when i meshsmooth they tend to get smaller. Dunno if that helped explain. Allthough for game modelleling its very important to know how to spare the polys and still make the silhouette look good (and fix the smoothness with smoothing groups instead), its not relevant on this model as its only for a walkcycle, and i can therefore knock myself out a bit with the meshsmooth. I will try to fix the skin colour a bit, but i dont want it to go too green as its a bit too clichè (sp), but perhaps a little tint of blue. I prefer to have it rather pale, as they are supposed to live in darkness/inside caves and the likes, and would obviously not look all that tan. Anyways, thanks for crits, keep them coming! Edit: here is the low poly non smoothed wire, imageshack seems a bit slow today. http://img100.imageshack.us/my.php?image=orclowwire5jc.jpg

ill try to participate, sounds like fun! Low poly contests are very useful as for learning how to be economic with your polys, so im glad someone pulled this off on this forum! *runs off to google for pics of thingies to model*

very wip. 2 days work. Modelling a bit after a lotr orc. Supposed to use it for my assignment where im to make a biped walkcycle, so the model itself is not all that important. Let me know what you think, cc is allways good http://img178.imageshack.us/my.php?image=orc9qb.jpg edit: and here is the wire, tho its the meshsmoothed one, in a bit of a hurry, will get the non-smoothed tomorrow. http://img183.imageshack.us/my.php?image=orcwire9nn.jpg

argh, i wish i knew zbrush. Im stuck with max for the moment =) Looks sweet, but a tad too cartoony for my taste. Keep it up!
-
Doesnt look like all that many polygons to me? low poly + meshsmooth + tweaking = nice model for games! (but that depends on the game ofcourse) Anyways, it looks nice, keep going!
-
looks like a pretty clean mesh, keep it up. Only place i can see there are not quads are on the sides of the pants-pockets. That might become a problem if you are to meshsmooth it.
-
looks half as blocky Very nice, keep it up =)
-
looks sweet! however, a thing that caught my eye: In one of the shots where there is a table and some chairs there are garbage on the ground. Seems weird to me that someone manages to forget one boot? And perhaps try to place larger pieces of garbage (like that white can thingy) and stuff like that around garbage cans or other more likely places, as those are perhaps stuff that you dont just drop on the street. No biggie tho =) Perhaps make that angled (cornered?) set of stairs a bit more smooth/round if you can spare the polys (or whatever they are called, too long since ive used hammer, 3dsmax is corrupting my mind! yarrrgh!) keep it up dude, looks nice =)
-
true, amounts of poly`s can be reduced, its the flow of the mesh thats important at least if you plan on animating it. So give us a wireframe picture! =)
-
looks very nice! =) a bit huge bricks/block on the bridge if you compare it to the elephant perhaps? no biggie, the pyramids had big blocks too =)
-
uhm... Feel like ive been hit in the head with an elephant. Redefined hangover. an update on the colors though. unwrappings gonna be shit. lemme know what colors you like/other suggestions you can think of. and i havent even began with the skin, so its basically the clothes/other stuff i want feedback on. http://img110.imageshack.us/my.php?image=brucern66aj.jpg
