when im not modeling for my professional modeling company i usually practice/warmup by making cubes of different dimensions. if i feel like truly displaying my skill, ill move up to cylinder or something spherical. its ok if you cant do this at first, it comes with repetition. i gotta say i had the EXACT same experience with ff7 i got a free cd that included the first part just like what you're talking about, i think it was a demo cd or something from ps underground....in fact im pretty sure i still have it around here somewhere but yea i hated the demo and i was like "wow how could people call this game good". i have to admit though, it gets very, VERY good....im about 2/3 of the way done at this point and i can say its pretty much one of the best games ive ever played....maybe besides shenmue, but only because shenmue was also pretty just go play it, after the reactor part it gets good *edit: also i started with FF9....it was ok....but....bleh...stopped playing after a while, i got to a point where i couldnt level and couldnt beat the current boss

i always find myself writing down phone numbers or other important things/ideas and then losing the paper or something like that. i was wondering if there was a "digital" solution to this. i've seen the logitech digital I/O pen but that thing is way too big for me, and its not the kind of thing you would carry around in your pocket. i was also thinking maybe a PDA or something along those lines....but that wont do shit for me if i write a note to someone on a post-it and need to get back the phone number or something. CONTRIBUTE YOUNGINS!

thats cool....i always like renders that look like super realisitic i wish maya had that renderer made by splutterfish or whatever (forgot name, dont care to look up) but you can do some cool stuff with GI and mental ray (and the renderman plugin ) oh and those HDRI images or whatever....but i think 3dsmax has that too
