Maya's got some pretty nifty odds and sods in it - modelling felt very natural. Max was initially a pain, but I'm beginning to warm to it.

Can't help but thinking the engines could benefit visually with a stabilising fin on them. They look a little too plain at the moment (still, could look horrible, but it's worth the 5 mins finding out, isn't it? )

I don't have a PS2, so I haven't played it. I quite like the washed out look to it, very nice. I think it was a victim of hype, it couldn't possibly live up to the 'halo-beater' moniker bestowed upon it.

I just tried to connect to a dm server - suceeded. Have you tried a variety of servers?
Also, what are you doing with the dm bit already? Enjoy the singleplayer man
Example maps highlighting a specific technique + a written companion tutorial = good.
Open source maps = bad. If people have the relevant skills, they won't need to have other people's vmfs. All that can possibly come from this is plagiarism.
