It's nice how people are encouraging others to use drugs. -
Is the Canon A85 any good? It costs 219 euros so it's good for my budget.

Just let BB and WotW change places and you've got it right. Both had kinda forgettable music and I really wanted strong themes for both of them. Still liked the WotW soundtrack better. once you listen to Batman begins a few times you definately hear that there are themes present. So has WotW, but as I said, not as strong as I had hoped (i.e. Jurassic Park theme, Batman '89 theme).

Schindler's List >>> all. Beautiful, breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. Perfect, like the movie itself. The LOTR soundtrack is also one of the best ever. Like I said in the BB thread, I was very dissapointed in the Batman Begins soundtrack. Very standard stuff, IMO. Doesn't even come close to Elfman's Batman (1989) soundtrack.

I still have a feelin u dont quite understand the idea of religion Peris. The whole point is that it IS primitive, its the beginning. The universe in its original state was primitive, but not fake. When u were born u were more primitive than u are now. In mathematics there are primitve expressions from which all others are derived, doesnt mean theyre false. Simple and naive is the only way it can be if its the beginning. Unfortunately not evrybody understands 'basic' or 'primitive' doesnt have to mean its dumber than a really complicated theory. Just to put it simply, if its not primitive, it doesnt try to explain what religion tries to explain. Steppenwolf, are u dutch? Ur mind seems free enough Comparing religion to mathematics? -

Religion isnt a book that tries to explain evrything. Its a person trying to understand it, these days with the help of science. Science wants to give a rational and theoretical explanation for evrything, but doesnt. So what do you think about things science doesnt try to explain, for example, what created evrything? You dont think about them at all, and call religious ppl naive because they do? Or maybe you do think about it sometimes. Well these thoughts have nothing to do with science because science cant explore this terrain yet. Your thoughts about what created evrything are just as naive as what ppl call religion, with the only difference being that you exclude the possibility of god, something science has never done or tried, because it cant. How can u exclude something u dont know what it is? But religion is religion, not speculation. What makes religion naive is that they blindly believe whatever it is that they believe in and call any other view blasphemy (referring mostly to christianity). -

Absolutely. I think religion is the embodyment of the biggest weaknesses and strengths of the human being. -
Ofcourse, one of the best filmed scenes I have seen in a long time.

Just saw it, very nice. The fights could've been clearer, though. The fight at the docks was good the way it was, chaotic and unclear, but all the fights were like that. I also really wanted it to have a stronger musical theme. A revised version of Danny Elfman's Batman theme would've been superb. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard (this film had both of them!) usually deliver but this time I was slightly dissapointed in the score. Otherwise a very fine movie, but I'm too fond of the first two to call this the best one. I'm also a little confused about one thing: In Burton's Batman Wayne's parents were killed by Jack "The Joker" Napier but in this one the killer was some guy named Chill. Who is it in the comic books?

It should be called Brothers In Action.

I'm sure there will be lots of WWII mods too.

So, RD, if I say there is a god called Mundaamuno - a frog headed moose - that just spoke in my dreams and said HE is the creator of everything, this could be the truth because there is no proof against it? That is a stupid claim. -

You can certainly choose it. It's not like it's friggin' genetic. Ok, let's compare. In America schools teach religion as facts, in Finland schools teach the facts of religion. Probably stupid to compare America to Finland, but it is the truth. Results: Most of the young people in America believe in God while most young people in Finland don't. If I want my future children to believe something, it's not that hard to make them believe that (especially religion). As years go by it doesn't necessarily become a choice for them to stop believing anymore because they already do and it has become sort of a habit and a big part of their lives as daily rituals (going to church, praying etc.). One last thing: how many American award shows have you seen where most people don't thank Jesus/God (sometimes even for everything they've ever achieved). How do you think this affects the millions of younglings that idolize the winners. -
And the pencils should have the same effect on people as the crossbow.

There are a LOT of scientists that don't believe in science then. What scientists believe isnt science. What they do in their labs is. Im sure there are many scientists who believe Michael Jackson is a childrapist as well. Alot of scientists believe that god didnt make the universe, but they dont believe its impossible. Its just a choice, like religion. And like Kosmo said, u might just have a very narrowminded idea of what god could be. A while ago ppl thought god made thunder, but nowadays ofcourse most ppl dont believe this anymore cuz its just sum clouds bumping into each other. Luckily there are scientific minds who realize that even this doesnt prove that God isnt behind every single strike of lightning You both got me totally wrong. The topic is about a law in America, so naturally we are talking about christianity. I haven't said a word about other religions or their gods (except for my last post), nor should I. And by the way: religion is not a choice (in most cases). -

There are a LOT of scientists that don't believe in science then. Actually there is a very valid argument behind what RD said there, I know this might sound ridiculous, but god just might not be what we think he is. If you take the good old Star Trek for example, in many occasions there is god presented, but in a form of evolved being, higher intellect and physical form, this suggest that these so called all powerful beings are infact gods, when we define human capabilities and compare ours to those of these supposed gods, anything that is more powerful than us is a god, or higher being, it does not neccessary need to be divine, what is divine to us, is undivine or nefarious to others. Completely outruling the existence of god is to outrule the existence of science, in a way, not meaning that if you are a holyroller you are an science extremist. But the views of people in different cultures and religions are so different that to someone that what is god is to another just a enlightened person, or just a normal person, he at the same time exists and doesn't. Ofcourse, but we are talking about God, not a god. -
