  1. First of all, we have discussed The Village months ago in another thread, so check it out to see why you didn't understand that film and what it was trying to be. But honestly, there must be something wrong with you if you don't think Gladiator is an exceptional film (you only mentioned Alien and BR).
  2. If they had spoke normal english: Oh, and that's a crappy reason to claim that a movie was bad.
  3. That is a bold thing to say. Gladiator has a breath taking score. Especially those parts with Lisa Gerard's vocals are truly heart braking (i.e. the scene where Maximus comes home and finds his dead family). being a soundtrack nut (scores really, I don't give a flying crap for soundtracks that have the latest bands on them doing their shit music for a movie, unless its music like Blade or such) and just having finished the score, I think it ranks up there. Nothing can really top The Battle and Barbarian Horde, but a lot of the elements in this score just keep going strong. Yes, I like most of Harry Gregson-Williams' scores and the score in KOH was really good, but I think Zimmer puts a little more soul in his music. I have only seen KOH once and Gladiator maybe 20 times so I can't really compare their scores yet. BTW, you being a soundtrack nut (like me), have you listened to James Newton Howard's work in The Village (one of the most underrated films ever, by the way). Especially the main theme "The Gravel Road". The violin in it never stops amazing me.

  5. Nope. I know you are trying hard and all, but please try a little more and understand what I mean. I said it is enough not to care about a movie made by him JUST BECAUSE IT IS MADE BY HIM. Well, it is kinda hard to see what you mean when you write it in such a confusing way. Your second and third sentences are not in "harmony", if you know what I mean. This made me think that by "it" you must mean BHD. But this is totally pointless, so I'll stop now.
  6. Sigh... and what movie that was based on a book did have everything in it?
  7. If a director is bad because he has one crappy movie, then all directors are bad and therefore all films must be crappy too.
  8. Word! I so want a new good sci fi movie. Well, if alien invasion is sci-fi enough for you, just wait till June 29th.
  9. People that get bored are boring.
  10. Even if they dissapoint, it won't stop the fact that millions are still going to buy them.
  11. About as much as Gladiator was.
  12. I think the bigger message is that fighting about which religion is the right one is absolutely absurd because none of them are right or wrong. And yes, perhaps not a masterpiece but great nonetheless.
  13. If you love movies, how can you not care about the new Ridley Scott movie? I feel sorry for you.
  14. I agree, but it does look like crap
  15. Actually, you'll unlikely see any HC christians supporting this film considering how Christianity is depicted in it.
  16. Just saw this film and I must say it was a really amazing epic. Nice to see Ridley show Oliver Stone and Wolfgang Petersen how it's done. Anyone else seen it yet? Opinions?

  22. Yes, I think it would be stupid of him not to apply for the job. But I know him and it's a huge step for him. Take the goddamn risk!!!
