"I don't know" is never a satisfying answer but it's better for me than something made up. I guess it's in people's nature to absolutely need an answer on things. People are stupid
Very true.
And to say "it has to be God" is naive. Why can't people just settle for "we can't understand that yet"?
We would still believe the earth was flat and throbbing around the moon if we were like that. How do u know we cant understand it yet? It only takes one genius to reveal the marvel
Admitting that we don't understand something doesn't mean we will eventually.

But I didn't cause the rest of the movie was awesome. So no, I didn't give up on the film.
Almost is good enough.

Some ppl create an (imaginary) god, and others are mindless zombies that never marvel at the mystery. Their deepest thought "it cant be god" blasphemizes the science and logic they worship and satisfies all curiosity their mindless atoms allow them to feel

worst line of the movie was probably
IS IT TERRORISTS=!=!=!=!?!??!?!
I wanted to get up and leave right then and there. Pathetic.
This is exactly what I meant by people clinging to the most irrelevant parts of a movie and then kind of "give up" on the film. Pathetic.
You obviously didnt read my earlier post, smartass. I liked the movie. A lot. That was just one thing that I really disliked.
But you wanted to leave because of one line so my reply is still valid.

Science doesnt answer all questions. Like how did evrything begin.
So people create an imaginary friend (god) which they use to explain everything they don't understand.

lots of good comments guys. thx
. I have every Blizzard game on the PC, except diablo 1 & 2. heheI played Final Fantasy XI for a year, and it was alot of grinding for experience. Always fighting something, then u'd level down and spend few weeks trying to level back. The quests were fun like halloween and christmas, but they didn't provide any experience to the character, only that you unlocked more quests to do. It got really boring, fast. I really want a MMO where I can maybe play for a few hours every so often and have a good experience. Seems like alot of you play WoW, which is great! When I got to level 50 white mage, it was harder to find parties and spells were insanely expensive!
Is it easy to go from town to town, or server to server? to meet people?
Is it important for a player to join a guild?
Don't know about WoW but in Guild Wars it's extremely easy to just quickly form a party for the next quest and play for an hour or two if you don't have much time.

Then u agree ur own opinion is ignorant. U might think the movie deserves 4,5 stars, but me and the rest of the internet isnt u.
Your saying all others on the internet besides me agree with you? You have proven my point.
And just for the record, I give it 5 out of 5.
No thats not what im saying. When judging a movie u dont just think of ur own opinion. U like it and give it 5 stars, but this has nothing to do with the movie really deserving it. Ur overlooking its obvious flaws becaus u liked the tripod sounds or somthing or u think u understand spielbergs deeper meaning. But u shouldnt have to read the original novel or investigate spielbergs motives to enjoy it.
This movie will definitely not go down history as a classic or a masterpiece. A 4 or 5 star movie is a classic masterpiece.
Like I said before, my opinion is totally non-biased.

Its just ignorant to give this movie 4½ out of 5 stars. The internet agrees with me, go look on it.
The Internet is ignorant. If you haven't noticed that yet you fail.
And most of mapcore agrees with me, so 'atomrofl'.

GW and WoW are like BMW and Ferrari (though I haven't played WoW). Ferrari is an awesome car but BMW is also nice and costs a lot less. If money isn't a problem, go for WoW.

rd is right and signs is a horrible movie that is about god and aliens with amazing space technology that somehow forget earth is a wet planet
You are either joking or being as ignorant as RD.

All i can say is, read up on WotW on the web. That, and atomrofl.
What do you mean? Reviews? The original novel?
-
Yeah Signs was a great movie
or amen to this, perhaps?
But it's all about personal taste so let's end this here.

Dont tell me theres a deeper meaning to WotW
Simply put, it wasn't about the aliens destroying earth, it was about the family trying to survive it and it wouldn't have been a very interesting movie if they had died half way through it. This is mostly a science fiction drama, not an action film.
Realism doesn't make a movie better or worse, IMO (except for the acting). Like in Signs the aliens were total idiots, the water being their bane was stupid but I loved every second of the movie. It's a drama film in an unusual setting, not a realistic depiction of an alien invasion.
-
Lolz, u guys hate saving private ryan
I liked independence day about as much as WotW , theyre both kinda shallow in their own way. Didnt it bother u that there wasnt a single fight with an alien in WotW? There were only 2 types of alien, the tripod and their pilots. The pilots only once got out to fight man to man and then the 3 hollywood stars in the cellar decided to evade them. It couldve been a great movie, now its just good.
You have completely missed the point of the movie.

why didnt they put more tripods in it, why didnt they show cities being destroyed by tripods...
...At the end where the the soldiers were driving with tanks and jeeps and choppers to the tripods, steven again decides not to show any of the combat and just some cheap explosions over the hills.
It was more about war of the towns and abandoned hills than war of the world, just didnt feel like there was a big war going on.
/rd frustrates wants more tripod actionThat scene where the reporter shows some footage of lotsa tripods destroying a city, thats what the movie shouldve been about. Steven ruined it

Destroying cities and big land marks would have been very original, I agree

I think not showing the destruction made it more intense, like in the hill scene. It was like it was too horrible to watch and the camera was afraid of showing it to us. Brilliant IMO.
Perhaps a movie called Independence Day might suit you better.
And the movie was about war of the worlds from the Ferrier's point of view.

Never trust any reviewer since they are prettymuch bunch of snobs with their cherry and cigars. Here is Finland we have this short review program on tv called 'Projektori' they usually review movies at theaters every week, and EVERY time me and my cousin see that and it has a artsy fartsy art flick on it, they usually give it the highest reviews, once they actually said that they would have given the movie points over the scale because it was so good and it was some mexican art picture about some mother just sitting on a beach and telling stories, so they much be brain dead or they take loads of acid and watch the movies.
So, if you have to read action movie reviews, then take the score and double it, the you are closer to the truth.
OMG yes, Projektori sucks so bad.
-
Aye silver 3 out of 6, I subscribe for Berlingske Tidende, and tbh then I almost always disagree with their main reviewers opinions. In fact, I totally disagree with all the WotW reviews Ive read
I have learned never to trust any reviews. They are just opinions and everybody has their own. Even though I'm a huge Spielberg fan I can honestly say that this movie is awesome. Even the ending.
As for the tripod call, here you go mazzle:
-
I agree with DaanO.

Games are never the reason for these violent acts. There is something already wrong with the ones that do them.
-
Actually it's from Michael Bay.

SPOILERS
It's so stupid how things like Robbie's survival can ruin this movie for people. I will never get that. Furthermore it wasn't a typical family-gets-together-again ending, they just accepted Ray as the father in the family again, nothing else changed.
And if we really have to analyze the things you mentioned:
Perhaps Ray was the second person to get sucked by the machine (second one that the guys there witnessed) and didn't get the idea on the first time since they were confused about what was happening.
Some people just cling to the most trivial things when reviewing movies, like OMG, HOW COULD THE CAMERA WORK AFTER EMP!!??!?! TEH MOVIE SUCKS BALLS!!! Who the fuck cares (for those who do: EMP does not affect electronics that are off during its effect).

Uiminien Killiety!
What does that mean? Beware of sharks or something?
Lovely photos
It's uiminen kielletty and means swimming forbidden.
Nice photos! I like the colors.
Are you absolutely sure GrayFox? Because I heard the sharks in scandinavian waters are especially dangerous.
Yep, it's true. Where do you think Renny Harlin got the idea for Deep Blue Sea.

A shinier aluminum type roof would look nice.
