How would one (me) go about pitching a serious idea for a game without the idea being stolen? Would they take me seriously? I have Insurgency on my resume. Should I approach publishers or developers? Should I approach either or who have already published games in the genre? Is there any future for someone who only has 'skills' for designing and writing and not necessarily more tangible talent (i.e. modelling, level design, animation, etc.)? Tanks!~

He is a first year Officer Cadet at the Royal Military College and is lifting up one of his fellow cadets up a 12 foot wall as part of the obstacle course which is a rite of passage for first years.

It has almost been two years since I got my 20D. I still use it. But I only had an 85mm f/1.8 because it was all that I could afford. Since then, I got a 70-200mm f/2.8L, 16-35mm f/2.8L, 580ex flash, and that's about it. I go to Photojournalism school now (in second year after completing a fast-track program in the summer, first year condensed to six weeks since I had experience). This summer I have good prospects at being an intern (basically just another staff photog) at Canada's largest daily newspaper - the Toronto Star. I've won a student contest, won a $500 student award and first place in another student contest. They are all pretty much national contests/awards. It's kind of annoying to post pics from flickr, and it's probably less annoying for you to click a link, so here! Advice to start: Go buy a roll of Ilford HP5 400 film. Then trust your light meter, because it really does work. I never wanted to trust it... but it's all you've got with film Final advice: RTFM.

Welcome to the DSLR club

Just curious about what everyone shoots here... Just between the two giants, Canon and Nikon. If you shoot with something else, post it here. Personally, I'm more of a Fuji disposable kind of guy. But then Canon comes in a close second with the sheer-awesomeness-sitting-in-my-lady-friend's-car 20D.

Congrats on the 20D! It's such an awesome camera.

The Department of Music at my university has been putting on a small concert each day (I think) in the Convocation Hall. Yesterday I was assigned to shooting it. Playing the acoustic guitar is Peter Stoicheff, an English Professor at the University of Saskatchewan (my uni). He played a mixture of his own composed tunes and some others. 1. A view between the doors of the Hall. 2. Tuning between tunes. 3. Taking a bow to the audience's applause. 4. Sharing a story. 5. Warming up. (Same place, different time as #1, cropped) All shot in RAW, Manual, with the 20D and 85mm @ f/4.0 PP includes (some) cropped, channel mixer b&w convert (r:50% g:0% b:50%), curves, noise ninja, usm I was also interviewed on Thursday by my university newspaper's hiring committee for next year's Photography Editor position
