  1. What a train wreck. I vote to close.
  2. $8 worth of chocolate covered espresso beans.
  3. Someone's e-penis just got bigger.
  4. I have a house, not a room.
  5. Attempt to read this.
  6. hahaha Nice Klein!
  7. its a selling point. Exactly. Because when you're making a PC game for snobby PC gamers, you have to come up with a few technology-related bullet-points to put on the box, regardless of how much of a breakthrough they really are. Because graphics are important and spouting off the latest rendering buzzwords to fellow geeks earns you cool points.
  8. Yes, UE3 seamlessly loads as you play through the game.
  9. Complain to the big hardware companies. We've been able to do this stuff on the software side for years. That's not the problem. The problem is, we need features like this to run in real time and affordable hardware that can do these things smoothly in a highly detailed game environment is slow to come. One thing we often forget when developing games is that we are an industry of magicians. We are concerned with faking effects and hiding what's around that next corner just for the sole purpose of giving the end user a smooth real time experience. We use such things as normal maps to fake real 3D geometry, not because that's how it should be done, but because that's how we have to do it to create a playable game.
  10. Kismet takes all of 5 minutes to understand and begin using.
  11. I was bored and walked around in the woods last Saturday. Didn't get many good pictures, but I like these few.
  12. UE3.
  13. I can't wait for my controller to yell, "Hey! Listen!" over and over again.
  14. I just played Excite Truck on one of the two Wii kiosks in the local GameStop at the mall. The controls were really cool. It took me about 15 seconds to get the hang of it. The game feels very much like Burnout. I generally don't like racing games that much, but this was fun. For all you GBXers, that's Collin Creek Mall.
  15. LOL That's me.
  16. UE3 is going to blow away Source for machinima when it's released. Kismet, along with Matinee, are the most powerful director/scripting tools I've seen in a game engine. Machinima probably wouldn't so as popular with Source if it weren't for Gary's mod.
  17. Besides making them easier to view, resizing them down would have improved the sharpness. As they are currently, they are somewhat out of focus. Resizing would have helped.
  18. Ive got such a card (GF 7950GX2, the GT one sucks) and it runs, even in MultiGPU mode, on my mainboard very well. I have this card also. It's like having 7900 SLI'd on one video card with 1 gig of video memory. Basically, it's fraking stoopid. In a good way.
  19. Haha, mine used to look like that until I found Google Reader. Then I compressed all my RSS feeds into one list.
  20. Google Homepage with Google Calendar, Google Reader, Gmail, Weather, and Wikipedia widgets. Add a Dictionary.com and a Google Maps widget and you'll be complete. Best default homepage ever. Also, Google Desktop Search. Skip the panels, just use the search function. Find anything on your computer way faster than just using the default Windows Search.
  21. Is it just me or does the UV mapping on the roof tiles seem stretched or, I dont know, weird?
  22. hahahah what a crappy apartmenthahah
  23. hahaha what a homo
