Bit of a shame that SnapMap has limits on entity numbers that seem like they will fill up fast (thanks, consoles!), so you can't have hundreds of enemies on screen at once like in ye olde Doom, but then sprites are a hell of a lot easier to render than polygons. Hey that would be neat actually; allow users to switch to sprite versions of the existing monsters, so the game looks like Gib Hard (How's that coming along btw, Peris?).

It's WW1, people. Now, show gameplay.

Welcome to free to play games. Or in this case: when it's free to play for the time being due to open beta.
-
The Weekly Brawl thing should change every day like it did in closed beta so people can try more modes for the time being. Or switch to Arcade instead of Mystery Hero.

It's WW2 with mechs in a dieselpunk setting. This will shut up both people whining for a BF2142 sequel and nostalgiafags.

Man, I'd have this if my damn insurance company wasn't so damn slow to get my sickness benefits out the door! Currently living on scraps thanks to that crap. God damnit, Försäkringskassan! Hey I just had an awesome idea, it's a long shot but ... someone gift me the game!

It's happening! Titanfall was a good shooter but lacked a lot in content and unlocks/customization (face it, people want carrots on a stick these days), so I hope Respawn have learned from this. Because piloting giant robots is awesome.

There are weekly tourneys in the beta, but there is still one thing missing for the game to completely please the competitive scene: Stopwatch mode ( http://dirtybomb.gamepedia.com/Game_Modes ). Currently people are using a makeshift version of that mode (pen and paper, wohoo!), and have to keep track of time manually to determine a winner via external stopwatches. We know that some sort of Competitive mode is coming, but if it's only ranked stuff thrown in there without any other addition, it's would be sad.

Let it be known that Tracer's butt started the great Cyber War of 2016.

Better loot huh? It has to be on par with the craftable stuff to be considered better in my opinion.

Been level 30 for a while, have done Lincoln Tunnel Checkpoint and Lexington Event Center on Challenge Mode so many times (Lincoln is easiest, Lexington is fastest), got full high-end gear and currently sitting at 165k DPS, and .... bored out of my mind. Currently, SMG's are the top tier weapons, namely the Vector 45 ACP that you can craft after buying the blueprint of the Pheonix Credits vendor. And it's a damn shame as nothing ever comes close to the damage the Vector puts out, due to passive +20% or so crit chance on SMG's. Sure, it's an SMG and thus have poor range, but that's why you carry a marksman rifle around. The only other weapon that comes close is an assault rifle that drops of named elites called Caduceus, which has the highest damage per shot out of the available automatic weapons. If you don't have either of these, people run circles around you in the DPS-race, which is quite sad. I badly want a rebalance to happen soon so other weapon types are favorable as well. Personally I am an LMG type of guy, but right now they are in a very sorry state. When leveling; everything works, but in endgame? No. Not if you want to kill mobs without running out of ammo. Speaking of mobs; when doing Challenge Mode runs in missions, there is one type of enemy that actually poses a threat: Shotgun runners. These guys will make you mad. They run at you while firing their shotgun which takes you down in 1-2 hits. Yes, RUN at you, not taking cover or anything, just gets in your face and ruins your entire day and you can't do anything about it unless your teammates unloads crowdcontrolling abilities or grenades on them. With a team of players that are decked out in high-end gear, and knows these walking tumors are dangerous, these enemies drop fast. But if you are going in dry with a bunch of friends that are not so well equipped, you are going to hear a lot of cussing and swearing over Discord or whatever you use, mostly something along the lines of wishing death upon the developers. If you see a mob with a thunderbolt next to the healthbar, either A) Run. or B) Kill ASAP. Now, the abilities. While leveling and unlocking more skills I am sure you have tested out all of them and found that they have their uses. But as soon as you run into tougher enemies, namely level 32 elites in Challenge Mode or the hardest Dark Zone district, you are suddenly more limited. The sentry gun only tickles enemies and gets destroyed in seconds. The portable deployable cover gets shot down fast plus enemies just run through it if you try to block them, and the riot shield makes the enemies fart and laugh at you. In Challenge Mode, people stack Smart Cover (yes the damage buff stacks), flashbang stickybomb for CC, with the supply station with either revive or ammo mod, and the aimed healing ability. It might be fun to use the little targetseeking ball but enemies have a knack for technology somehow and hacks it, turning it against you all the time. Deployable skills with a healthbar are rarely used, apart from the supply station, since the enemy just shits on them. And then there's the Dark Zone, the PvP zone of the game. I have yet to experience any real PvP in the Dark Zone, as people have quickly figured out that going rogue (killing another agent) is extremely punishing and not worth it all. If you die as a rogue, you lose so much stuff compared to surviving the rogue timer, it's utterly pointless. Everyone in the DZ are now just running from landmark to landmark, killing named elites, get loot, run to the nearest extraction point, get their loot extracted, and repeat. The only people I see going rogue are either new to the zone and its mechanics, or just bored and got everything already. Combine this with the fact that people have obscene DPS with the aformentioned Vector, people drop very fast. And to survive you have to stack health gear and resistances, at the cost of ... all your damage. Lastly I want to say that the appearance loot and customization of your character is extremely poor. When you see that cyan beam of loot in the distance, you know it's a lackluster as much of the stuff to dress your character with looks the same, unless you paid extra for the season pass and/or preordered the game. And the jackets you get from collecting all the collectables are just eh. I pray for more ways to customize your characters. Hopefully next months content update will bring some life into this, because right now there's very little endgame.

http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/se/en/pc/games/shooter/tom-clancys-rainbow-six-siege/ currently out of stock but that price is great, especially with a voucher code ... might even pick it up myself, watched a number of streams of it, however I'm being told to wait until the network issues get fixed.

I was lucky enough to get an invite in the last wave, and while I've spent most of my time playing Fallout 4 instead, I've had quite a few games in Overwatch and it is really fun... as long as you win (a hurr durr). Tried most heroes, not all, and before I even began playing or saw streams outside of developer gameplay, I was set on that Bastion & McCree would be my main boys. Well, turns out that the newly added tank hero D.va is my current favorite after playing her quite a bit. Very mobile tank thanks to her jets, allows for a quick disengage if shit hits the fan, a shield that covers a massive area in front of her that vaporizes any and all projectiles (beam weapons still shit on you), and an ultimate ability that makes the enemy team run for their lives (her mech turns into a massive bomb, of course you leg it). The only problem I have with her at the moment, is how slow she is when attacking. Since her damage is best up close, it's not hard to outrun her. Probably why you need to use jets to get up in their faces, but I often find myself saving jets to get out of sticky situations rather than initiate. I think she should either A) get a slight damage buff, like better range, or B) move faster when firing. But then again she is a Tank and should probably be in the enemys face like the other tanks to shine. Anyway, when it comes to other heroes, the assault hero I am doing most work with is Reaper, as his teleport lets you get behind enemy lines quite easily, once you learn the maps, plus his weapons does ridiculous damage up close, easily wrecking most heroes if you can aim. My favorite support so far is also one of the new heroes: Mei. You can be such a dick with those ice walls of hers, plus she is a great counter to fast heroes, as her cryogun slowly freezes enemies in place, allowing you to finish them off with a secondary fire shot to the face + melee. And my favorite healer hero is ... I dunno, depends on the team, but I tend to pick Symmetra, with her annoying turrets, spammable shield on allies and her ultimate ability that helps your team lots: Teleport. Also one thing about her main weapon is that primary fire does increasing damage over time on a target (I've killed tanks this way), and her secondary fire can't be blocked by any means but is easily dodged. Now, there has already been a tournament in the beta to see how well this game plays in a competitive environment, and there is clans setting up Overwatch-teams for release. But it has been decided pretty fast that this game needs a Stopwatch mode to appeal to the competitive scene, as right now it's very difficult to determine winners in a Best-Out-Of system which relies on timers or team score, especially because of the overtime mechanic. But then the people who play competitively tend to be a minority, and if you balance a game around ~5% of the playerbase, it turns to shit.

I hope someone works on a HUD mod right away, because looking at leaked videos and screenshots, the default HUD almost feels like it belongs on a mobile game. Hope there's a HUD scale slider. Also the removal of the dialogue box with multiple choices, and having it replaced with 4 button prompts at most, is really uuuh ... hmm ...

Okay so the closed beta is now live, even in Europe, and I didn't get a mail or have any Install button for the beta. I am sad now.
