  1. Episodic content just reeks of money gathering schemes.

It works for TV as its free, so you know your gonna get the next bit no matter what. Games...well..I'm not paying £12 every now and then to find out what comes along. I doubt I'll be getting Episode One for that matter either. Sure the HL2 universe is nice, but hey I'm not paying £2 for an hour of gameplay.

Yeah, but done right, which I think Episode 1 will be, it'll just be like an add-on pack, in a similar vein to Opposing Force etc.

  2. Max Payne 2: Poets of the Fall - Late Goodbye

    Aye.

    Also: Deus Ex OST.

Oh, and going WAY back, those really awesome songs from Cannon Fodder - including the poignant one as new recruits walk over the hill past the graves of Jools and Jops and all those other brave men who died.

  3. its not cynical mathematics.

if a normal studio can make a normal 10-15 hours game in a few years, a SMALLER studio can't churn out the same quality for 5 times the content.

What it is- is a scam. So much filler it'll make your eyeballs bleed.

    But hey, it's your money.

So you're opposed to episodic content in general? Like, you feel the same about HL2: Episode One?

    Fair enough.

  4. when you make a thread like this you're supposed to put a picutre to the comic or link or something

That's what I was thinking, especially with the word 'premium'.

Then again, looking at a picture of the program CAD is more interesting than reading the comic CAD.

    I'm a cad, I know.

  5. I guess we can also buy games that never came out in our countries too. Earthbound etc never came out in the UK so we never got to know Ness well.

Europe didn't get Super Mario RPG either. Stuff like this is a great opportunity.

  6. Exactly.

Take this hypothetical scenario for example: God wants to create life, so he creates a set of rules, designs and so on, and then needs a catalyst to start it all off - the development of which can be viewed for pleasure, or just to alleviate boredom. The bang is the catalyst. There we go.

  7. As i said before, the normal here doesnt really represent the geometry the texture was intended to have... but atleast it looks better than just running the texture through that filter like what is mostly done.

It would still look 100x better if this texture's normal map was done in a modelling tool though

Yeah, but for the little guys, this is a good method.

    Cheers, SS.

  8. To be fair, play as something else slicky.

You've become the best warrior/tank/whatever. Try being a mage, or an assassin, or a vampire. There's still some variety left.

I do agree with you about the lack of items and monsters though.
