  1. The light looks out of place too, I'd prefer it if it were to be a seperate texture that the mapper could apply at his/her discretion.
  2. There's more than a little de_torn in that last shot. I have to ask, what's surreal about it?
  3. It has dynamic lights though, so say for example you can parent a light_spot to a lamp model and have it swing around every which way but loose. That's good enough for me.

  6. I tried the E3 playtest thing, it was alright, like a 3D Diablo, but it soon got boring. I require more immediate gratification and control from my games.

  9. Well, I've just played it and been absolutely blown away. Fan-fucking-tastic. The best HL map I've ever seen. Beautiful, ingenious, insert-praising-adjective here. Normally I distain in brown-nosing, but man alive you've earned the kudos Ferret. I also checked the .rmf. No amount of Alka-Seltzers could cure the migraine it induces...
  10. There's nothing ugly about the DS, mano. Sony really need to crank the battery life of the PSP, 2-3 hours is a joke.

  13. Too fiddly for me, it would take days just to get a room done . GTK support shouldn't take that long though.
  14. Tres nice. I'd give Doom 3 mapping a go, but the camera control does my proverbial tits in. Guess I'll have to wait for GTK Radiant.
  15. I like it, but the nose needs to be more defined and the body brought into proportion with the head; shoulders widened perhaps.

  18. I don't think you want to see my first map, from around 1999. Needless to say, it involved a hollowed room with some random computer texture and no lights (yet oddly you could still barely make out the details).

    800x600 and 1024x768 are worlds apart where Doom 3 is concerned, the texture fidelity difference alone stuns the retina.

    Annoying thing is, I can't run any better, even with numerous tweaks, than 800x600 Medium detail on my R9600XT, gig of DDR and Athlon 2600+ rig. All I want to do is make the jump to 1024x768, but it drops into the 20s during heavy firefights, and I can't live with that.

  25. Bring down the console in game and simply type "editor". I'd run the game in windowed mode for when you do this though otherwise it seems to fuck up. DD, I feel exactly the same way. Any way to get the viewports to look more like Hammer? Plus the camera, which is a bitch to control... surely there must be some way to change it to be more like Hammer/GTK Radiant.
