If I had an interview that was far away and they wouldn't pay for my traveling expenses then I probably would not go.

I would buy a mug with hurgs face on it. Murg

You only have one level up there as far as I can see, and theres nothing in there that really shows how good you are as a level designer. Scene composition, lighting and props might just all look good but that is not what level design is all about. When putting up a level on your portfolio you need to describe the design process and philosophy. With multiplayer levels you have to describe choke points, objectives and your thought process around balancing. For single player you need to show some scripting or atleast how you created the "story" in that level. At least, if I was looking for a level designer, that is what I would look for in a portfolio.

All I know from checking old PM's is that Izuno and Kleinluka hates boobs.

Sell them on the unity asset store with mecanim rigging so that people can reuse whatever animation on them.

Great Thrik, I'll wait for the the "red" version then I love me some red shirts. One day I noticed that my entire closet was filled with black clothing, so I've made a wow, that unless I can't help it (free t-shirt) I am not going to buy another black piece of clothing for some time. And I'm not a fan of pure white either because all spots (I cant put all the food into my mouth) are so visible

Haven't tried hard core, and probably never will. if I do it will be the last character I ever create in diablo 3 I couldn't handle losing.

Wrote this on FB as well, but reposting here for the people who don't see it. I want a red t-shirt and a mug. Both the "blue" t-shirt, "white" t-shirt and "black" t-shirt comes in a red color, but neither of those have the white circle inside the box in the logo. And the "Game development part" is almost unreadable. Is this how it is supposed to be? Looks a little odd I think. I would prefer all text to be white and have a white circle inside the logo. Please provide dear overlord of mapcore

Finished the expansion in two evenings. It was just more of the same, nothing mindblowingly new, but had some cool new enemies and other stuff like those door ways that freeze you. There was nothing that really ever bothered me about playing through it, either. But dont get me wrong, I had a blast, and I feel like it probably went over just a tad too quickly. I would have liked the act to grant me all 10 levels (I was 67 when I approached the final boss, but was told by friends I should wait until 70 to get a 70 legendary). So I joined some friends who had already beat the game and leveled to 70 in some Adventure Mode. Adventure Mode is awesome. I feel like they really took replay value seriously with it. So good job on that. I will definitively be playing this more than vanilla d3. Only farming paragon levels and items never really enticed me as much as hunting down bosses across the map seems to do. Overall I think its a solid release. In many ways fixes so many of the problems and issues that vanilla d3 had and I got to say at this point I don't really miss multi player pvp, so I'm fine with you guys not adding that.

So what do you guys think of valves movie? Personally I'm a little disappointed, but I think maybe I was expecting a better narrative and maybe more drama. Or maybe it was just a tad boring to me because I had already watched the tournament and knew the players and most of their story from before. I'm curious what you guys that don't play dota think about it.

You should probably start off by buying a flat, and not a house. Both things requires a level of commitment that is a bit above what is required of you when you rent something and its better to go in easy. Because a house requires a lot more of you because you now you also have to take care of the outside of your building and the property. And you'd be surprised at how much time is spent keeping your property in a good shape once its yours. I cant speak for how it is in England, but given that we're still in Europe you probably have a lot of the same expenditures as we do: Morgage Garbage and disposal (you'd be surprised at how much this costs) Water Power+heating Internet+tv+phone Insurance (furnitures, house, yourself, all separate here and very important) And when buying a house you also have to consider the property and what the house is built upon. No one is going to help you if your house is built on cursed land (lol). If your house gets flooded, you're fucked, if your house starts moving because its built on mud, you're fucked. If your ceiling is leaking, you're fucked and so on. Its a lot easier when dealing with an apartment because someone else has to care of everything regarding the exterior. So yeah, if you think you can cover all the expenditures (and have enough saved up so that you can last at least 1 month without a job, preferably 3 months), then you should go for it. Only real reason I can see for getting a house with a yard is if you have kids. Or a wife that absolutely requires a lawn she can plant stuff on. BBQ's and sun bathing can be done on a terrace. Plants can be planted in pots. edit; sorry I started ranting about not getting a house when all you said was that you wanted a "home". I misread edit2: Oh I see the thread title specifies a house, so I guess my rant is good after all

Ive done that route a couple of times as well, but I dont have the gear to do it on Torment 2 :/

Ouch. I feel the burn
-
I don't understand how you got burned by Rage. That game was worth the preorder imho. But then I didn't experience the laggy-textures that a lot of people did. BF4 had a beta out so you should have seen that one coming. Colonial Marines.. what were you thinking? That reeked like a failure for so long before it was released. Are you that into the Aliens franchise?

The games industry is made up of some of the brightest people, why haven't we made any unions yet? Should we make one? How can we do it?

When I early adopt something (movies, games, hardware), then its mainly because I don't want to be spoiled. Whether its the story in a movie or the game play in a game or the feel of the new hard ware, I don't want someone else's opinion color my own before I get to watch/play/test something that I have faith in. I love the feeling when I sit down and enjoy something for the first time that people has not told me all about beforehand.

Indeed it is, but like any decent clone it has some originality to it. We've introduced moving units, spells, boss fights and a really long campaign with two difficulties. The final boss fight also triggers ragnarok which melts away tiles (they turn to lava) which in turn makes for some interesting strategies. Some of these features PvZ2 also introduced when we were about 1 month away from release which was kind of demoralizing but in the end pvz2 was a huge failure in our eyes because they were too hard on the monetization bit. Trolls you can play and complete without spending any money. We actually wanted more to pay homage to PvZ (hence the name and the game the way it is), but I can totally see that we probably cut it a little too close to the original.

I've switched jobs to Megapop Games in Oslo http://megapopgames.com/

Hey guys. Its that time of the year again where I release an iOS game This time I joined development at the halfway point about 6 months ago, and we finally ended up soft launching in New Zealand and Norway in early February and now its finally time to release to the world. Link To iTunes Store Page As you can see from the video, the game is similar to a certain planting game. But to be honest (in my perfectly unbiased opinion of course), its not any more similar than call of duty is to Wolfenstein 3D. Its free to play and very easy on the evil monetization scheme, so don't worry, I promise you wont feel cheated out of your hard earned bucks if you end up deciding to purchase something in the app

I thought you were gonna work with the indie scene (limbo?) in denmark. What happened?
-
This! There's always two sides to a story. Personally I don't think the police is to blame, or the protesters. I think the blame lies at the top to let this slide so far out of control.

I played it for a couple of hours, but it didn't hold my attention for long. First blizzard game I've put down after that amount of time :/ I think I'm getting jaded...
