    I've been thinking about this a lot, and maybe early access doesn't really make that much sense in my case, as I don't really need the cash for development. I definitely want it to be as fully featured as possible on release so I should probably just call it a "real" release :). Here's a few new screenshots I just put out:

    Yay a thread :). Thanks for the support everyone. I have a few things to do until greenlight, but I'm getting close! Still deciding whether or not I should launch as early access.. I do plan on supporting and updating it after release. Big thing I want to do after initial release is adding in multiplayer :). Oh yeah that's happening

  12. I highly recommend the book, on of the best sci-fi stories I've ever read, I couldn't put it down :). Really looking forward to the movie. Ridley Scott + Good writing = high hopes

  15. Not enough mapcore people are making games and posting them, keep it coming castle :). I love seeing your updates. And I've just been super busy with work/life stuff the last month, havnt had time to work on gibhard =(

  19. Okay, way late, but how are you doing that lighting on the weapon and enemies?! It looks so good! Is it a normal map? Are those enemies being rendered realtime but being pixelized onto a billboard in realtime or something? They look exactly like models in some spots! Thanks! You guessed mostly right, the billboards have normal maps. The enemies were made in zbrush and baked on a texture sheet with all their animations from 8 directions. Example normal map: I put a lot of work into the lighting to make it all look right. The ambient light adds subtle directionality to them, which is combined with realtime point and directional lights. I'm also using deferred rendering so I can use lots and lots of lights without eating up perf too much.

  22. It got screwed over by studio heads and has fucked up editing, but it's still a really cool movie if you can look past that. I'd recommend it
