  3. Who cares what an analyst says~ Edit: Golly, reading through it makes me want to make a lot of snarky comments. So here they are! Sort of like the studios that crunch out their last game, then get laid off, except the didn't get the hourly pay. Personal skill has little to do with your success, it's where and what you work on. Even out the bonus over all the hours of overtime (over several years) and you might be making minimum wage! (if it's a multi-million blockbuster, mind you) Food for thought there, analysis-guy! You have insight, I respect your opinions! I've had 4 beers tonight, so tomorrow all comments are null and void.

  5. I just finished watching the Quicklook over at Giantbomb ( http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-cal ... l/17-4587/ ), the game looks so-so. The graphics are nice, but they are ruined a lot of the time with crazy colorcorrection (cellphone mode??) and extreme DOF. Sorry to hear about the crunch and everything, seir!

Sadly path_tracks can't be parented to a moving object, I tried it out earlier A guy over at interlopers said that instead of a human NPC following the scripted_sequences I should have had an flying NPC (manhack or scanner), that would have solved the jumping problem. Seems so obvious in retrospect! Several testers in the various phases of development! Skdr, Evert, Pericolos0, Generalvivi, Campaignjunkie, Minotauro etc. I have a group of guys I keep using as testers, and I gradually introduce them to the testing cycle, so for each new version of the map there's atleast one pair of fresh eyes on the map, along with the people that tested the earlier versions.
  8. It's completely messed up, but I like the statements of some of the survivors from the island massacre, that actions by cowards like this shouldn't dictate how our society will be in the future. Seemingly someone from my fathers side of the family got killed in the explosion, I haven't heard from all my friends in Oslo yet, but it's a relatively small city, so I'm sure this affects many people throughout Norway
  9. Whoopservatory for Half-Life 2:Episode 2 Setup: Dr.Magnusson has been conducting a personal project in an old observatory. After an unfortunate outbreak of Zombie-itis the lab had to be quickly evacuated. You must go in and wreck up the place before it falls into the wrong hands!! about: This is a map I mainly made to showcase the player cloning gameplay mechanic. The idea is that you record your actions, then a clone repeats these actions which helps you navigate through rooms. Of course, there's still some combat involved to keep things interesting I wrote some stuff about the scripting here, in case you want to see how it's done. Screenshots: Download: Right here!

  12. What do you want to work as? Your portfolio is very "jack of all trades". Also, are you moving there without any leads on a position, but intend to find work once you've relocated? Most people get the job first, then do the whole relocation thing.

    I find it to be a bit of a prisoners dilemma type of situation actually. I'd rather see mcnamamara run over by a bulldozer so that the staff can keep their jobs and not be forced to relocate with their families.

  19. Func_clip_vphysics does that. You might want to give it a filter to sort by as well, otherwise it will block handgrenades and other physics objects as well.

  24. There was also that old viking game based on the unreal engine, where you beat people with a sword in third person. Can't remember the name though
  25. Awesome portfolio! The Nuclear Dawn stuff looks really cool. The only thing is the lack of text (info about the levels), maybe have it as a text-field which can be expanded (starts out as hidden) or something like that. Also, the addresses on the left (underneath game title) aren't clickable, which would be nice.
