its looks good, but it doesnt have a point... though HL1 DM maps.. never did. But what I fail to see here is something unique... and z-axis action. I would imagine both would serve a great purpose in todays HL2DM maps.

What ReNo said. Plus, remember that more brushes can be shown at once than in HL1 and it looks like you would have decent r's in HL1 but this is hl2... so the top of the hanger can be more that 6 faces... why not 12 or more? also I would suggest breaking the hangar roof up into several pieces, full of trims and supports.. also get some light_spots underneat those lights in the hangar.

I say lose some pipes, have better lighting (light blue lighting is great for these kinds of areas... your architecture looks decent but nothin to craze about. Your textures are over scalled and blurred in areas... and it appears that you make a hallway and 2 rooms... then took pictures ...

I think your stuff looks really generic exspecially the "hangar" where the sub is, What happened to all the machinary hanging lights with wire all of the place, the occasional catwalk? The area by t he rotating door is just way to yellow for my comfort... even the silver vent looks yellow... you to change that. The buildings outside dont look to realistic maybe a patruding trim where the roofs start. Thats basically it... keep working at it though.

I think it would be tough for the people that only know english as a language (me personally)... I wouldnt know what to say in the grocery store... I would be able to eat.. aahhhh!!! But other than that... I have to wait till im in and out of uni which is 4 years from now...

I think the lighting inside is whats killing you. It doesnt bring out your architecture and doesnt contrast at all..it appears to be all white lighting (except for the outside of course). The vents are really wierd looking and may have gone a bit overboard... Some parts in your level you have excellent brush work and other meh, but then again not every area can be WoWZeRS. As I was looking through ur pics i noticed that the outside area is surrounded by a brick wall or appears that way from the shots you took. If I am right, then that doesnt fly with source engine exspecially with buildings surrounding it. Some areas out side feel a bit empty but all around this map has some good work in it... but your theme is weak, industrial area/building with vents and a brick wall surrounding what ever it is surrounding..... Keep it up though

Maybe this is why you put the "nvm" but wouldn't Mazy making a DM benefit both of those sides? If he wins.. he does get money and respect of th HL2 Community.

Just went through the map.. its pretty fun... i had a lot of fun throwing boxes in the air... grabbing a flame barrel then jumping in the air shooting the flame barrel at the box... that is fun. But I took some screen shots of things im not sure u noticed. The lighting is really messed up in here.... try to fix that. Notice how the water changes..... At the end of the tree line... a tree is cut and half and maybe add some static props of trees to the front The material seems to be quite stretched here

Okay there are only 2 things i dont like about this map. 1. The terrain is unrealistic, the grass is way to flat make it looka hell of alot nice. And that little brick cobble path throught the grass is a displacment you should paint the alpha and actually make it look like their blended together, giving the effect that the grass is starting to take over the path, which gives more of a "old path" feeling. 2. Is the lighting, i think its way to bland, have more spot lights, more spot lights comming for the street lights and maybe some lights glowing around the tress to give it that dark park feel. And have more lighting color, maybe some where on the building have red lights glowing of some sort, just give it mroe variance than the bland ligthing you have now. Other than that its looking pretty decent.
