Okay I just tought that it would be cool to make a thread that has HL2 screenshots. I made new thread because I dont want to post pics in regular HL2 thread to avoid spoilers.

Please post only the pics with level name on the filename so ppl can see if they have beated it yet and can check the screenshot

Is there any documentation for the shaders? How do I make my own shader for the objects?

Also, why does the game set mat_fullbright "1" when I load my map. I run BSP, VIS, RAD and LIGHTS - all of them.

Also, can you please explain whats effect is done with shadow_control?

How do you make the sun glare effect?

How do you make the rope "hang"? All I get is tight rope without any hang effect

CCC = cat control center

CCC is crap, useless, ram eater. Dont use it.

If they assemble your pc, it doesnt mean that they install the drivers for you. My guess is that you have default drivers in pretty much every case. Motherboard, soundcards, bios etc.

Find out what version of motherboard you have and update it asap. Same with bios.

Was the computer pre-installed with all the software or did you do the work yourself?

If you did it yourself:

- Do you have latest BIOS drivers / motherboard drivers

- Do you have latest gfx card drivers? (catalyst 4.10? / Omega drivers)

- Do you have latest DirectX? (9.0c - comes with WinXP SP2)

Make sure you have Anti-aliasing set to "Application Preference" in Ati-driver settings. Same with Anistropic filtering (sp?)

Do you have Anti-aliasing set on in Ati's preferences?

Do you have AGP 8x?

I love it. It's a great step forward from old HL1 engine. Physics are awesome. Only thing that annoys me are the shadows (overlapping and going thru objects etc.)

Also it would be cool to run towards objects (like barrels) and make then move. It just bounces me off from the object now.

Anyway, its a great game
