I landed a job at Rovio to work on Angry Birds franchise. I'm starting early next month!

I don't think so because Gearbox started working on Duke just last year... They might already have had a deal in place at that point. The Duke Begins project could have been something they started with Take2, but my guess is that it got merged with Duke Forever once that blew up in 3D Realms' hands. I don't know really. Triptych Games worked on Duke after 3D Realms exploded, Gearbox snagged the IP just last year. http://www.triptychgames.com/
