  1. As a matter of fact the chairs are models, but they are just extremely plain ones that I only retextured. I don't really like them but I'm not a modeler and they can't be really that complicated since there are six of them and two more sofa models in the background.

I'm pretty much maxed as far as brush based entities are concerned. A few more them and HL would crash.

Yes, model lights would be a nice touch but I would like to see the actual source of the light, as in a bright spot in the model. This would require two models with different settings yadayada... and since I can't use more brush based entities it's out of the question. I just hate the HL1 engine and all its lame restrictions.

I've done some floor lighting as well in the map although I don't really think it fits the theme I had in mind. Well I did have some other ideas I never really tested out so I might run some quick tests next week.

  2. Thanks sirs.

Stolve: It's an "western meets asian culture (mostly Japanese)" type of office focusing on stock market stuff/financing/consulting whatever, but without the offices. :)

I think I've had enough playtests already so no more tests. Testing/beta stage is over now.

/me thanks OL and peri for the modelling help.

  3. This is most likely my last HL1 map, mainly because I'm such a slow mapper.

Anyway, the map is just about finished now. There is still some minor texture, r_speeds, lighting, detail tweaking left, however, these pictures will give a rather clear view of what the final version will look like when TS 2.2 steps out the door.

It's pretty much a relief for me to stop working on this map since I haven't really been able to think about anything else lately.

Over 6 months of work is finally coming to an end. FINALLY!~

  4. That's what I said. It's a game so I don't care as long as noone exaggerates the facts, it's not 100% realistic. Then again, the guy said the point was to make it as realistic as possible, without sacrificing gameplay aspects and I don't think today's AI can create totally authentic behavior so I'm fine with that. It might have its minor flavs but I'm sure it will be a great game so let's not argue about it anymore.

  5. Your lighting is a tad bland considering that studios have like a gzillion lights all over the place lighting up carefully defined areas.

There should be more contrast, more usage of different color tones.

The themes in the different areas are rather undefined. Make them more obvious and more colorful, in order to add contrast between the actual warehouse and the scenery.

  6. WTF!!!

I couldn't possibly even think of playing with arrow keys and reversing the mouse is like obligatory for me. All my friends play like that. You people scare me!

    /me hinds behind corner

Mouse roller: jump (usually unless the game is retarded and won't let you bind keys to it.)

    thumb button: reload (same thing)

For example in TS I have my lil finger on control (duck, although I use the same key in all games) and my thumb on the spacebar for doing stunts and stuff) and "ctrl + e" for super jump. In other words I don't need to move my fingers very much.

  7. I personally don't understand why so many people complain about WW2 or more specifically US vs Germany is overdone. It's no more overdone than modern conflict, counter-strike clones, or sci-fi shooters. There's always going to be a market for WW2 games, and every game has something a little different to offer. Take some time to read the About and FAQ sections to see how far we're trying to take our realism and historical details, if you haven't already.

Because it's the only side of the story that's being done in full scale. MOHAA, DOD, DOD source, BiA, etc. You'll be competing directly against the two latter. As for CS, all its clones die out.

It's good to hear that you'll widen the perspective of WW2 though.

  8. the USA did very little in WW2 :P hmm lets think what was that other team called that did alot of work....hmmm....hmmm OW YES!!! the ALLIES!!~!

Agreed. I'm sure you have a lot of talent on your team but your idea is just 100% unoriginal. I'm sick of seing WW2 as a US vs. Germany war. This is overkill.

There is so much more behind it all.

I want to see something European for a change!! Just anything!!
