  1. Remember kids: Freedom is on the march!! We shall spread freedom and democracy! The enemy is weak! ~ /me bangs head against a wall
  2. It's a sad sad day.
  3. The textures remind me of the old mapping days four to five years ago. They are pretty bad and don't fit at all. You can't make such areas in HL1. Even if it were HL2, it still wouldn't work. Having just long streets with cubic houses here and there doesn't work. I advise you to read some tutorials on vertex manipulation and lighting. Studying vertex manipulation will also give you a glimpse of what HL1/HL2 mapping is capable of and give you a better sense of different enviromental shapes and sizes.
  4. I wonder what RD, the true genious behind fy_iceworld, has to say about this map. ~~
  5. Okie well there are exceptions but in general it's just silly.
  6. No. All the reviewers so far have been shipped to a closed location where they have had a chance to play it.
  7. This leads to the fact that they most likely won't even have time to play the whole game thru, which explains the ridiculously flat reviews that have no content whatsoever. Games are big business today, but it's getting a tad out of hand in my opinion.
  8. All the magazines that have reviewed HL2 so far have been issued with special exclusive rights in return for biased reviews giving superlatives a new meaning. The real reviewers won't get a chance to play HL2 until 15th. PC Gamer is the source of all evil!~
  9. Brushwork is simple and ok in most areas, lighting is mostly entity based which makes it look bad, textures don't fit partly due to great differences between texture resolution. The general theme is a tad confusing. It looks ok, but the style and quality varies greatly.
  10. Some of the areas feel like they lack purpose. There is no specific detail that stands out which makes it look generic and deatmatchy. Overall it looks good but doesn't feel special or give you a sense of realism in terms of defined structure and layout. I'm sure you'll add detail that will give it some more purpose though.
  11. Oh my sir~ Congrats!!1~
  12. Very impressive stuff and welcome sir~
  13. Business math is ridiculously easy. Financing is another ball game though.
  14. Valve basically remade the entire game between those two release dates.
  15. I absolutely hate accounting. It's the worst thing I've been forced to study at my school and it's also the only course I've failed so far~ Every account has a certain code so that you won't need to repeat the name of the account. Some are standard, some aren't. It's been two years since I last studied accounting so I can't really say much other than the fact that it's the most boring thing ever~
  16. NEVAR!!!!!!!!~~~11 I would love to help but I'm uber busy with school at the moment :/
  17. It's about time~
  18. I prefer eyecandy that improves gameplay. Architectural and multidimensional ambience eyecandy and gameplay are inseparable. A map must be original and serve a purpose of some sort. A map can look good visually, but can also look bad gameplay wise. You don't need to play a map to know how the core aspects work.
  19. Raven Shield is great, except for the buggyness. HI, on the other hand, tries to be so realistic that it becomes unrealistic.
  20. Sounds really cool but a) I don't have any experience in modeling b) I can't really quit my studies, c) I'm so uncertain. /me criez~~
  21. Yes, me too. Me three. Me four. Me five Me six. Me seven. Sigh~, eight.
  22. Oh my... Very cool stuff so far. I'm too busy to do anything at the moment though and I have no idea how to do fancy stuff like that.
  23. /me refers to the "touch-and-feel" concept. Touch it before you buy it, which is the reason I like to have full control in every phase since most plain t-shirt models suck ass.
